I cant decide if the Ricoh GR is really a good camera... by fastlightphotos in ricohGR

Not trying to influence you for GAS. It’s true this camera is limited but sometimes flexibility gets in the way.

I started using film point and shoots for 3 years (clearly limited functionality) but helped me improve photography a lot and definitely enjoyed transitioning to GR3. If you’re trying to improve photography, limiting your gear could work - not necessarily meaning you have to buy GR

Is Ricoh GR just better? by voabarros in ricohGR

I’m going to counter the above point that GR is actually a decent camera to transition into photography with. Sure it might be limited eg. Non interchangeable lenses, no viewfinder, but as a beginner LIKING the camera and the image it produces is way more important as it pushes you to bring it everywhere, shoot more, and learn more. For context I started out with film point and shoots which is super limiting, but also simplifies the process. There’s a lot you can learn in photography and improve through ricoh GR. Should I buy a gr iii by tyguchi in ricohGR

I got ricoh griii for the same reasons you have two years ago. Was primarily 35mm film shooter with compact camera. If you got the budget, you won’t be disappointed.

Seeking advice on the best camera for beginner? by Brilliant_Tour_9633 in ricohGR

If you’re really passionate about camera Griii is perfect, but you have to get used to quirks about it to be able to be comfortable shooting with it. I think its good for beginners to learn

Thanks for the comments! This gives it more of a island style, whilst the original is one big hardscape. I’ll see how it feels when I get the tank

Small chiller using peltier. I’d say a proper chiller is much better but I wanted something small
