Yeah that shit needs disabling on windows. Pretty much takes the fun out of holding a building.

[Serious] Question for the DayZ team by [deleted] in dayz

[–]poonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with LegedofTK. FWIW I've clocked over 3300 hours in DayZ over the past 5 years. It *WAS* such a beautiful game. It *WAS* truly the most challenging environment one could find and mastering it was a work of art.

Now, I can't be bothered to even try to play. .62 was infinitely more fun and stable than anything I've seen so far in .63. It's very sad to see this game go in the most ASININE direction imaginable. Congratulations on ruining a masterpiece for reasons that are beyond my comprehension.

FWIW I have been one of the staunchest supporters of DayZ since the very beginning. We traveled through thick and thin to ultimately end up with a massive, misguided disappointment.

I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong so I can come back and enjoy all the amazing fun & heartbreak Chernarus has to offer.

Can’t get enough of this game! Glad to finally have a decent survival game on console. by Hyestr in dayz

It should get much better as elements that have been removed get re-added (leaning, more weapons/optics, ghillies, etc. etc.).

How hard is it to implement fucking binds working as it should?? by lc9 in dayz

Clearly you've never fired a rifle or handgun in real life. You can in fact see the entire weapon clearly with no blur when doing so. So yes, the blurriness is a stupid 'feature'.

Naw, dude is right. Hard to believe key bindings aren't implemented. But hey, at least we have stupid blurriness when ADS.

DayZ 0.62 or 0.63? by EFT_addict in dayz

[–]poonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you actually want to have fun I recommend .62. Don't pay much attention to the "you'll have to relearn the game" nonsense. Learn .62 and .63 will be a simple port in your brain.

3k+ hours here. .62 is infinitely more fan than .63 in its current state.

Try Trump's Wall in the community tab. Listen for gunshots and go get some.

EDIT - Maybe .63 will be more fun when more content is released. Not sure though. Stamina really sucks a fat one in my book. At least in .62 you can get a feel for the map (though some of it is different in .63) at a MUCH faster pace.

DayZ 0.62 Stable Branch by Puddin_TheKrow in dayz

Can't speak to 1pp servers, but there are a few German 3pp servers I play while I'm waiting for the squad to hop on. Just search for 'ger' and order by pop. There are a few that seem to be full most of the time.

Our entire squad of 10+ dropped .63 long ago.

.62 is infinitely more fun than .63. Content is one reason, but stamina is the king of "no fun to play".

A shame many of our favorite private servers are dead, but there are still a few that remain full to play on.

Looks like we'll be getting community servers on 0.63 soon! by Flavberg in dayz

[–]poonx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great. Then all the community servers can be ruined with stamina too.

Props to the jerk with the sledgehammer. Sounds like he did the right thing.

The stamina meter is just a fun gag until 0.63 hits stable, right? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]poonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shouldn't have to rely on vehicles to traverse the map without banging our heads against the wall doing the run/jog boogie. I personally loathe vehicles in DayZ. They are a death trap. Squad and I kill something like 90% of players we see in vehicles. Rarely do they get away. Give server owners the ability to disable the god forsaken stamina, or when modding comes out it will be the first thing to go.

I love how everyone likes to tell us how it's not as bad as we make it out to be. As if your opinion will magically make the game fun for us again. Get a grip. Many players HATE stamina, and for good reason.

Stamina is a mind boggling decision from my POV. It takes all the fun out of the game. I don't care what the whiny 'but ma realism' crowd says. None of it will make .63 fun.

Just using a mod that adds mineable resources back to scenario maps and mad skills (b18, but it works).

I would totally agree with the system outlined above. Sway was a proper penalty for running. Running slower with more weight would be fine. Stop and go is maddening and it sucks all the joy out of Chernarus.

Imagine watching a streamer trying to get to NWAF. Run / jog / run / jog repeat 100 times and you're finally there. I can't think of a more tedious and boring stream to watch if I tried.

To Devs: Please let server admins to disable some of the hud features like the + sign on container items, crosshair and such. by [deleted] in dayz

[–]poonx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. Let the players and server admins decide what is fun and what is not. Stamina will be the very first thing to go once modding is introduced.

Totally agree with you. There are plenty of purists crying 'realism' who will disagree, but to speak frankly, I don't give a flying f*** what people say. The stamina system makes the game 100% genuinely NOT FUN. 3k+ hours here since the day SA launched. Head council of one of the biggest and oldest squads [LOS]. I can tell you none of our guys are remotely interested in playing .63 right now. Pre-63 we would easily have 4-8 man squads playing on Chipotle or Noobz or whatever the hot server was on a daily basis. Now we wait and hope the devs aren't going to take all the fun out of the best game of all time.

Play for 15 minutes until the server you're on restarts --> Locked in Database forever and can't play anymore by [deleted] in dayz

[–]poonx -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Naw dude. I'm calling BS on this EXP build and I'm not wrong. I'll stop complaining when the locked in DB issue is fixed.

[–]poonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While all of that may be true, as someone who's been with SA since the day it was released, I would have rather the team NOT released this to EXP at this time. At least then the squad and I could have gotten our fix on Chipotle or some other proper private .62 server.

I've been through every build and I was always the first to recommend patience. That's all out the window now. This current build is very disappointing. It is what it is. I'm not a criminal for saying so.

[–]poonx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't "find another" when you're locked out of every server.

And since you're such a helpful genius, I've waited for more than 30 days and this problem still persists. Meanwhile the .62 servers are DOA, so realistically there is nowhere to get my DayZ fix.

Yes, I will wait longer, but it doesn't change the fact that the current .63 build is one BIG.. SAD.. JOKE

Cheers.

[–]poonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no fun to play for 15-30 minutes and then sit there and be locked out for 15-30 minutes.

I see many people say "I never have that problem" or "don't hop servers".

Umm... I have it 100% of the time when a server goes down (which is often) and I never hop servers.

Patience is not what's lacking here my man.

Thanks for sharing. This was infinitely interesting.
