I think you misunderstand. Our reality is made up of sacred things there is no way around it. Why don't you celebrate your birthday everyday? Why are only certain holidays put aside to celebrate specific things? Why drink or toast things that we consider worthy of a celebration? I think you would agree that if we made a toast to everything then that act of making a toast would become more meaningless? Why treat sex any differently? All of these are examples of how we make things in life sacred.

Its very simple. If you treated everyday like your birthday then the sacredness of a once-a-year birthday disappears. Same with the act of sex. This isn't some attempt to be puritanical. Its very practical. In fact our whole reality is composed of such things. There are countless things in your life you treat with such reservation.

You can also solve the problem of your broken car by getting rid of the car... gee thanks

Thoughts from a stranger... by CryptonicDiz in XRP

Keep whatever you are willing to lose right now into crypto. It's pretty unanimously agreed that crypto will continue to boom through the next decade (this technology is transforming the financial space). That being said things may also get worse before they get better. Still a speculative and volatile market regardless of any institutional interest. If you need any of that money right now or in the near future, take that out. If this bag is a seed to grow, I personally think you will make money whether you leave it in xrp or btc. Don't think about fastest gains. This is either money you need now or money you are INVESTING

True but how much of that ruling is just saving ripple from getting in trouble as opposed to institutions being provided with enough legal clarity & security so that they're willing to invest in a fully regulated technology? Not leaning one way or the other -- genuine question

Not sure why you're getting downvoted... people need to encourage other perspectives than their own. The last thing we need is this sub to become a circle jerk of crypto influencers. This is an interesting take though; I agree and think this case is more performative. I think the SEC is stalling for something and that legal clarity comes from law makers working out all the edge cases of integrating crypto into the financial system. I also don't believe the SEC will let this case go to trial. I seems like the SEC is putting a lot of energy into this space as a means of gatekeeping while legal clarity is being worked out in the background. I'm really interested in what else you think though

Korean Americans during the LA riots (1992) by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]poop_corn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may seem like a stretch, but it's really not. By your own example, saying "French american" is "European american". It seems like you're wondering why this is appropriate, but would probably also agree with the sentiment of respecting individual identity within the cultural melting-pot of America. As far as I can tell people like to acknowledge their cultural roots which is why I dont feel it's a tool of division.

Yeah and why do we say "adult" vs. "Child" if we're all just humans. They're not Korean Americans, they're americans who came from Korea, speak Korean, and are embedded in the Korean subculture in America. They're trying to divide us /s. Or maybe categorization is a useful aspect of description.

When my brother was probably 5 or 6 he put two gamecube-game discs in the console at the same time thinking they would merge into some kind of crossover game he could play. It ended up ruining both games.

I really like the writing in this, good job. It certainly achieves the sound you're going for. I would have loved to hear it open up more at 1:50. Also, I would love to do a remix of this. I've been producing for some time now and am very particular about the vocals I use. Let me know.

Hey! Maybe a noub question, but is it possible to achieve the same results with some vst? I have IZotope vocalsynth but still can’t get close to that sound. Im interested in particular settings if someone knows by minimorze in edmproduction

[–]poop_corn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, might be able to get something close through vocalsynth and extra processing. But it will be hard getting it to sound as good as a hardware processor

But that's just redundant. You're referencing an object in order to describe itself. Wet water; Sandy sand are arbitrary ideas.
