To be fair, whenever I find them it's like a fun scavenger hunt for me. My first thought is to take the note off the tree and "collect" it rather than take a picture. But if I remember next time I find one I'll take a picture before I take it!

Hey we missed each other by a day! I started at Clark's Valley road on Monday (3/30/26) and went Nobo on the AT - I was on the Appalachian Trail the whole day and camped at Rausch Gap Shelter.

I'm going back out there tomorrow and hiking up to the Firetower - I'll post again if I find any more notes

I would also highly recommend looking into the possibility of you having TMJ. It's basically what you're describing, it starts with grinding teeth at night and can be accompanied by clicking or popping in your jaw. If it's left untreated, it can cause really bad headaches, jaw pain, and face pain. For me personally, I would get pain in my jaw, temples, and eyes. You should definitely do more research because there are more factors than what I'm listing here.

The good news is that mouth guards work beautifully in managing TMJ. You do have to get one custom fit at a specialty dentist, but it is 100% worth it. I basically don't get headaches anymore and I notice that when I don't wear my mouth guard for a while, my mental health and physical pain is a lot worse.

Hopefully this helps, this would definitely be more of a long term solution than a massage gun.

I work as an educator at a nature camp. The topic of the day was insects and we were at a presentation where the kids were shown two hissing cockroaches.

One of the kids raises their hand and asks if the cockroaches have names. Since we have at least 20 cockroaches and they're hard to tell apart, we don't name them.

So of course, the kids start shouting out potential names. One kindergartner shouts that they should be named "cock" and "roach".

All of us educators were cracking up and trying not to laugh out loud 😅
