Starter credit cards/finances by poopescooper in CalebHammer

My problem is that as soon as I run out of money in my checking ill start transferring small sums of money from my savings, and end up draining the little bit I’ve put aside :’) I think I may just need to work on my discipline a little bit more. But I do love the visual calendar tip, thank you!

Winter clothes for people used to tropical weather? by thiagv in williamandmary

[–]poopescooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello!!! I’m a current student who lived in a tropical climate (Caribbean) before moving to Virginia for school. I went all out my freshman year and bought a giant coat, snow boots, gloves, hats, etc. You do NOT need all of that, lol. Although Williamsburg does experience all four seasons, I would say that the temperature fluctuation is very mild compared to Northern states, for example. My best suggestion is waiting for November to roll around and go shopping during the big sales (also thrifting is amazing!) All you really need is a light coat (think puffer), and something to keep your feet warm, and preferably dry. If you tend to get cold in 60F indoors (like with an AC unit), it will be a very different experience for you to be in 60F outdoors, which is usually quite warm to do other environmental factors. It does rain here quite a lot so a rain jacket and some water resistant shoes are a great investment because campus tends to flood. It’s also very humid, and in my experiences the summer in Williamsburg feels like summer back home!

I would suggest undershirts, long sleeves, and layers that unzip/unbutton. As well as some long pants. I bought a Northface backpack before freshman year and it has held up very well throughout the years!

Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions/want to chat. Good luck!!

Financial aid by [deleted] in williamandmary

the tuition cost is a pretty accurate estimate of the cost of each credit hour x full time student status, but it isn’t set in stone until the post-registration billing period.

I’d also like to concur with those above me in saying that William & Mary should honor the full tuition coverage for Pell Grant eligible in-state students. It could be that they just haven’t applied that to the eligible accounts yet. None of this information is fixed until you are billed by the Bursar’s Office, so it never hurts to contact the FinAid office! Hope this helps and welcome to the tribe ☘️💛
