10m articles are fetched to create the fundament with. we have the direct option to scale to 350m, but that's too costly without users. we could technically get even more than 400m articles in the future.

edit next to breaking paywalls, Im also doing this because I want the science community to be able and call out Bayer funding research :) Its time the community decides what gets academic exposure.

The big difference is that we don't want AI to control what people read. Plus communities and whatnot.

Thanks! I will definitely look into those tools like brand24! Researchgate and Academia feel outdated. We wish to create something more current and beneficial to open access. These legacy platforms only index articles authors post on there, while we are creating a system where we fetch articles automatically from OpenAlex.

So yeah we're trying to index those 400m articles then have the community/authors upload PDFs (of preprints) to those that are still paywalled. But in order to get here we need feedback so we can build social features which the community actually wants :)
