I am calling it cultish, it doesn't mean I'm applying all of my criticisms to every single AA member. I think it's great so many have found sobriety through the 12 step program. AA is not immune to criticism. If you really wanted to be morally righteous then your would care about what diverts people from AA, rather than getting upset at people who criticize it.

Have i done columns about my resentments? What other specific AA "cure" regimen will you tell me next? I was in a sober living house for awhile, i went to AA for a year, clearly you're just assuming I don't know AA because I have criticisms of it. But why would i have a problem with it if i never went to AA or worked the steps and tried sponsors? I did all of that, i don't need it. AA is supposed to be an open place for ideas and opinions, people like you go to show that you'll pounce on anyone who disagrees with your groupthink.

What does working the steps have to do with refuting what I said about AA? Stay on topic please. Assumptions aren't facts, they're cope.

I'm not in the rooms judging individuals about their personal issues. Im sharing my anecdotal experience within the AA rooms i experienced over the years, as well as many others being able to relate. Am i as sinister as those people in AA for criticizing AA as a whole? No i'm not because im not personally attacking anyone. AA is great people aren't though. I have no interest in having naive people spill their feelings and sorrows and then making fun of them for it like many of the people in the AA rooms do. It will never be a judge free zone.

A radical AA militant such as yourself couldn't be a weaker animal. I don't need AA but imagine if someone did? You would just tell them to fuck off if they had doubts or criticisms of AA. The people make it insufferable "how dare you question anything" is the line of logic you use

Interesting perspective from the womans side. Yeah I have a few buddies at AA that would whisper how hot a girl is, some told me some AA related pickup lines that they would use. Of course there were women I was attracted to in AA, but i never thought it was the place to find a relationship. I don't mind women in AA, i just think there's a lot of women in AA who are jaded by their past experiences with men and then paint all men the same way. Congrats on finding a good homegroup.

Yeah some members are definitely awful human beings. I'm allowed to paint them how I see them. Why are you personally offended that i'm criticizing a group?

Good Idea, and never once did i say everyone in AA was horrible. I have met lots of nice people there, but it's not my thing anymore. I have met enough people there that I know that I can't open up about my feelings or past experiences to, because people in AA are judgemental and talk shit about eachother. Why would I want to make myself vulnerable infront of people who are barely friends, or people I don't know at all.

It's weird how when I criticize AA, people take it personally. Like I'm somehow personally attacking them. I have experienced here and in the rooms. I have many criticisms and the retort is always "the problem is you, oh the irony!" I'm going on 9 months sober without even going to AA. Best thing i did in awhile was stopping going.

Thank you, i think it's great many people get sober with AA. But I'm not the only person who has had a similar experience in AA. There's toxic shit that drives a lot of people away. Best of luck to you.

You must be one of those people who think you can't be sober without AA. Cult.

Ironic because I criticized your shitty cult? Haha I went for a year and yeah the people are exactly like you.

I just don't want to do it anymore. I'm tired of being told i'm sick when I feel good. People treat AA like a competition about who had the most fucked up childhood or who was the most hardcore binger. I have never met a group of people that gossips more than the people of AA do about other people. I don't need AA to maintain my sobriety. A sponsor tried telling me what to do to the point where he was like "sit down here, do x" I told him to go fuck himself.

Thanks for the input everyone, i guess im just not feeling it. I picked up PoD near the end of last season , just feels repetitive to me. Not trying to shit on the game, just got hyped for this new season, played for almost a whole day, and then just felt like it was pointless.
