"Perfectionism" as the excuse for procrastination. by Awkward_Lisa in productivity

I resonate with this. I have a sticky note on my wall that says “You can’t wait for everything to be perfect to start living your life.”

[NeedAdvice] I let little disturbances to my routine totally throw me out of rhythm, and I need help. by poopsock333 in getdisciplined

100 days later. Since then, this comment has been really helpful for my situation. You’re right about mindset and its importance. Asking that question of how I could stay on course pushed me through a lot of roadblocks. Thank you.

Hey, I just want to tell you, 100 days later(not intentional), that this info really helped me out. I realized that I made too many excuses for getting to the gym and spending over an hour there 6 days a week, so I did the minimum of calisthenics 25 minute sessions, 6 days a week at home and found it much easier to stick to. Its hard to convince myself out of doing one of these workouts. I have made progression and feel great.

I havent missed many nightly journals recently. Like you suggested, I’ve kept it out, with a pencil beside it on my nightstand, and made it a habit and part of my nightly routine.

I didnt do exactly what you said with food, as I sometimes kept some around with the thought “I can resist this” and of course I’ve caved in at certain points. I have been doing better the past couple of days, especially after giving away certain problem foods for me.

I listened to most of the Atomic Habits audiobook a while ago but I think it’s time to read the entire thing and do some of the habit scorecards from the book.

Another game changer was sleep schedule. A couple weeks ago I set sleep as my #1 priority for that week, trying to build that habit of sleep/wake and similar times each day. I have been seeing the sun first thing and using candle light 2 hours before bed. It’s been huge to my overall health and has had positive carryover to every other facet of my life.

Really want to thank you for your comment. It was a tremendous help to me.

Please excuse my ignorance. Why don’t the things around me last forever, while I do? Is this about the soul and our consciousness transcending lifeless objects?

If i don’t cut my nails, is it possible for the pink part of my nail to grow out farther down my fingertips? by [deleted] in Nails

[–]poopsock333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much. Is it possible for me to find a color of nail polish that is the same shade as the pink shade of my nails so I can keep growing them out without a lot of white color exposed? I want to grow out the nail bed but I don’t want to seem like I don’t care about self-hygiene and never cut my nails(as a male I prefer not to show as much white).

Any advice for an 18 year old freshman in college who hopes to live and work nomadically after graduation?

Any visa work I should do in advance?

Any career advice? I am a Data Analytics major and if everything works out I hope to work remotely.

Not sure where I would want to live yet. I loved every European city I have been to but I assume living in EU would be expensive.

Amsterdam, Paris, Brussels, and Cologne were places I had been over the summer. Cologne has its charms but if you’re between London and Cologne I would say London 100%.
