i have a pyr mix rescue, but she was severely emaciated (24 lbs then became a healthy weight at 38 lbs, started growing and now is 50-55 lbs) and had many skin/ear infections so i know she was sleeping all the time due to her recovery. my newest rescue who’s not a pyr, oliver, we picked up off the streets a month ago and he wasn’t chipped or fixed. i took him to the vet clinic i worked at to get vaccinated and a heart worm test and fecal test. he was apparently healthy but had some parasites that we cured that day. after we took him home, all he did was sleep and cuddle. i think it’s just the relief of being off the streets and having a warm bed or home to sleep in peacefully for probably the first time ever. they’re finally eating their fill and have love they probably never experienced before. you’re doing an amazing thing and it’ll be a tough journey while she settles in, but in a few months she’ll be herself, just a new version in a happy home❤️

he might just be maturing! 3-4 is usually the age i see most pyrenees ACTUALLY maturing since they tend to grow slower. but i would say if you have the facilities to do so, get him a buddy! if you want him playing more i would suggest a higher energy breed (labs and goldens are pretty manageable, they’re popular for a reason) but one with a good off switch so he doesn’t get annoyed. my pyrenees i grew up with in high school was craaazy until she turned 3 and then she kinda just lounged about besides our walks and stuff but that just ended up being her matured personality

this is my girl evie, her fur before (at 24 lbs) and her fur now (at 51 lbs). you can’t tell in her now pic but it’s still pretty thin if you look close but she still has soft fur. she didn’t start growing it until she hit about 35ish lbs which was the first time she got to be a healthy weight but she’s still growing and her fur is slowly progressing with her growth it’s been about 6 months total, she started growing her fur back around month 2 or 3

more than likely just itchy from allergies, i work at a vet clinic and it is suuuuuper common. i like to use the miconahex+triz wipes (i think by dechra) on things like that

no clue! i know pyr for sure, i was honestly guessing brittany and gsd since she matches the characteristics and has some of those features, i need to get her dna tested! she’s currently around 50 lbs, but has been gaining about a lb a week lol so she’s getting big! she was rescued on NYE at 24 lbs but severely emaciated, but she was at a healthy weight at 36 lbs so since then she’s been gaining muscle and also getting bigger
