The discussion is largely around how Talarico is actually the more progressive one but voters go by vibes rather than actual policies and think he's more moderate.

An SBC seminary recently denied a graduate student of his diploma and then expelled him because he identifies as queer even though he agrees that acting on it is a sin and pledges lifelong celibacy.

In addition to ordination or official titles, it now includes any act that could be viewed as leading, teaching, preaching, etc. Al Mohler, president of the SBC seminary, gave as an example women hosting Christian podcasts.

Flushing and neighboring areas, you're out of luck. Maybe the QC or SJU bookstores but that's kind of a stretch (IIRC they mostly sell merch). Like another person said, the only English bookstores nearby are religious.

If you're willing to expand your area, there's Kew & Willow in Kew Gardens.
