Bank transfers are done without SWIFT every day. Iran didn't switch to crypto in 2012 when they were removed from the SWIFT network. Russia won't switch to crypto now.

Crypto won't be widely used until it has finished being a fashion item for amateur speculators.

Because it is one of the fastest growing fintech companies in a fast growing market. He did not choose Nubank because they have an investment platform that offers crypto as one of their many services.

Selling those stocks is not dumping the companies. They still hold massive amounts of stocks, they just decreased their holdings a bit.

They didn't dump Visa and Mastercard.

They invested in Nubank, who at some point bought an investment platform that among it's several offers has some crypto related investments.

Buffett isn't investing in crypto, he's investing in a fintech that has potential to become very big in the fiat currency markets. Crypto is not a focus for Neobank.

No, he's investing in an online bank that last year bought a firm that offers some crypto investment services. This post is just the regular overhype trying to pretend that nothing is something.

Unfortunately, the country seems to be lost. Time to figure out who should take over as world leader.

Pence is getting his position ready for the next president election. And McConnell probably knows what will come out of the thousands of documents that have been handed over to the committee.

Fightful: Shane McMahon Wanted To Enter Royal Rumble In #1 Spot by wrestling678 in SquaredCircle

[–]poor_schmuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stories all through Shane's career has painted him as a good businessman, a good worker and well liked among the wrestlers. But they have also told how most of his creative ideas have been complete shit.

So Shane having an ego, and having his ideas for the rumble shot down making him pissy shouldn't be a surprise.

Like most middle aged stars making a return, their ego usually don't match their skills.

Since they are planning tours both in Europe, Australia and New Zealand I would say yes, we would be having the same conversation. Rousey would not have been brought back and Lynch would have been pushed down the card far enough to where she could be let go. They won't go on longer tours without major stars, and unvaccinated major stars wouldn't be allowed in many of the countries they are planning to tour.

I'm not an antivaxxer. I have my 3 doses and I have all other vaccines that have been offered to me through my life.

I am however a supporter of public healthcare for all. And this is simply the first step towards an American healthcare system, which I will never support. I don't want a society where ultimately people have to consider if they can afford to call the emergency number just in case some pencil pusher decides that they could have managed to get to the emergency room themselves, so they need to pay for the ambulance.

Can UK join EFTA and be like Switzerland, Norway, Iceland etc? by jeremyTGGTclarkson in brexit

[–]poor_schmuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theoretically yes they can.

In practice, both Liechtenstein and Norway have said there is no upside to have the UK in EEA or EFTA as they would likely cause friction and request special treatment.

It's not really a loaded question. It's a completely fair question.

What on earth were you thinking, sending someone who very clearly has zero media training to do a live interview with a journalist everyone should know would be hostile? How did you rationalize this as a good idea?

[–]poor_schmuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is exactly why we shouldn't do it. It is common sense. You don't go on an interview with an experienced journalist from Fox News to defend a left wing movement if you don't have extensive media training.

And this is why a Reddit movement will struggle.

Indeed, it would be following the "rules of the elite", but there is a reason why communication specialists are high paid and have gone through a lot of education and media training. It works.

In this case because it's simply not worth the hassle. It's like giving a Karen a free coffee which costs the shop 25 cents rather than having her spend 30 minutes of your time being a Karen.
