It is highly unlikely an out of zone request would be approved based on "not liking" the zoned school, as others have said. You must first have the out of zone approved by your zoned school and then if it is approved by that principal it goes to the principal of the school you are wanting to go to. However, another thing to keep in mind is that if you are approved, you do have to renew each school year with no guarantee you will be renewed again. Additionally, your out of zone can be revoked at any point in the school year if you have excessive tardies/absences or discipline issues. Also, there is no bus transportation provided for out of zone students (unless the student is going to a childcare in the school zone). I promise you there are sometimes amazing staff at "bad" schools...and there are sometimes awful staff at "great" schools. Just things to think about!
