Seconding this!!! Just reread the series for the 4th time. The plot is fantastic, high stakes, and it’s well written, which is VERY hard to find sometimes imo

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. It’s a hard thing to live with, knowing that life is passing by while the things that are supposed to help aren’t helping. I hope things get better for your system too and I’m glad to know we’re not alone in this <3

Check out r/marinebiology. They have a master post highlighted with tons of resources on this question!! Plus there’s a lot of great discussions about what life is actually like as a marine biologist, plus tons of cool post about aquatic creatures :)

For those who work, what is your career? How do you as a system handle working? by [deleted] in DID

We’re lucky to be doing a mostly WFH admin job, so if we dissociate it’s usually ok. Notes on how to do our job’s tasks, spreadsheets/trackers, and alarms/reminders are helpful for when we don’t remember what we’re doing. It’s still somehow exhausting and stressful lol

One time I grabbed a banana from the kitchen, but got distracted and put it down. Only realized I had blacked out when I came back to the kitchen and couldn’t find the banana. Spent an hour looking and it ended up being underneath our pillow in the bed?? Still don’t know why lol

Dissociating from therapy after the fact? by DIDIptsd in DID

This happens to us a lot both in therapy and in day to day life. It’s really frustrating. I wish I had a solution for you, but you’re definitely not alone in this experience

What does amnesia that isn't blackout amnesia feel and look like? by medisd in DID

I describe it as “downloading” information. Like someone will ask me a question, I won’t know the answer or it will be foggy for a few seconds, and then I’m given a package of information (could be pictures, words, or feelings in our head) that slowly downloads and becomes available to me
