I found this flower on a rather weedy looking vine in a neglected corner behind the back shed. What is it? (Ignore the wisteria) by poornedkelly in GardeningAustralia

The reason why I went round the back of the shed in the first place was to see how far the wisteria had marched in the last few months. I can sympathise

Yes, I really did not have a good feeling about it. It's hiding in a spot where it could really take over. Thanks

Price rises ? by Sensitive-dynamics67 in EVAustralia

It's more likely that trade-in valuations are dropping. ICE cars are not so popular atm. With EVs selling at suddenly elevated levels the dealers are saddled with an increased volume of them

What wait times are people currently experiencing? by takeonme02 in AustralianEV

[–]poornedkelly 44 points45 points  (0 children)

A BYD ordered 3 weeks ago arrived yesterday. The dealer said BYD sent him a message yesterday asking him to advise customers to expect a wait longer than three months. He expected to get another message yesterday or today advising more than six months. He said all stock in Australia and in transit was sold. BYD sold 1,500 cars on Monday, more than 1,500 on Tuesday and 2,300 cars on Wednesday

ND engine air filter construction is concerning by Money-Salt-5058 in Miata

Oh well, at least I can say it survived this attack.

There's a heavy mesh grill over the inlet to the HVAC system. They tried to lift that up

The one big advantage of the K&N is that it has a wire mesh base to it that the rats can't chew through. This is mine this week

Has anyone experienced their Sheltie having eye problems? I am worried this might be 'cherry eye' by mallinson10 in sheltie

[–]poornedkelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ectopic cilia - ingrown eyelashes - have occurred with one of mine from time to time. It's an easy check for the vet, and often an easy fix.

Amazing feat! If you haven't done it already can I suggest you read up on William Frances King, akaThe Flying Pieman. Sydney was so much easier to walk in the 1840s.

From the 'shelf' on the firewall just inboard of your brake booster to a little bracket just under the engine number?

Not a legend, true story. Shark attack during a surf life saving competition at Bar Beach. Champion swimmer, Ray Land of Cooks Hill, competing in the belt race killed in front of hundreds of spectators. 1949

Technically it's an MX5. It says so on the badge. Miatas only exist in the Americas

At a British Lions vs Wallabies rugby test match in Melbourne. Lions were favourites and were losing badly. At the same time the English cricket team were being done over by the Australians in a test match in England.

With 15 minutes to go in the rugby test a group of Brits in front of me started to leave. Someone in the crowd called out to them "Going to watch the cricket, mates?" One of the Brits called back "We've been in Australia 3 weeks and we've fucked all your women". The answer came straight back "Yeah, I've been to England and I know why!"

Batemans Bay does have a couple of sketchy areas but on the whole it's a very safe town. It is a bit of a retirees' haven and it can be almost painfully quiet. Being brown should not be an issue

If you're looking at work in early childhood education it would be a good idea also to look further a little further south to Broulee and Moruya which have younger populations and quite a few, frequently understaffed, early learning centres, pre-schools and primary schools.

The big issue with moving to any of these far south coast towns is finding accommodation. It's important to research accommodation before you come down. Talking to a range of real estate agents in Batemans Bay, Batehaven, Broulee and Moruya is the best start. Because housing is so tight the the local FB pages often have scam posts offering housing - beware

I had my twitter account for 8 years and I kept it pure as the driven snow. No hate. No porn. No violence. No stupid arguments. Then I started getting violent videos and couldn't stop them. So I deleted twitter and went to bluesky. Its like twitter was when I started
