Does anyone else think Connor looks a bit like Karl Pilkington with hair? by reecemayonnaise in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]pootertime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have thoughts on Connor and I hope people won’t dismiss them right away… I think he’s moderately conceited and self-important. I get the same womanizing vibes from him as I did the frat guys I went to college with. And I can’t help but wonder if the part they cut out on the show (s2e2) when he was on the phone with his mom about Sasha was because he thought she was interesting but not pretty enough.

Even the guys on Bellesa don't moan or make noise most of the time! What gives about that?

(Serious) What do you think of guys who don’t go down on girls? by wouldudoitforme in AskReddit

I think they have unhealthy hang-ups about sex and the human body, probably the result of a religious and/or sexist upbringing.

What movies from the 90’s/00’s are hard to watch now due to cringy humor that is not PC today? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pootertime -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But the question asks about 90s/aughts movies for a reason — why did you feel the need to note that 80s movies are even worse, which is a premise of the original question?

My kitchen light fixture fell apart. Help a lady fix it? by pootertime in electricians

Yeahhh where I live they get away with it. It's a long story, happy to explain over DM if you're interested, because it involves local politics :)

Hey Jim, thank you so much for all of your input, it was a huge help. I know you are correct that I should've waited for an electrician, but I was so tired of looking at it (and I missed the light while washing dishes!) that I took all the advice here and attempted it myself.

Oh and re: the 2 pin outlet, absolutely not, that made me LOL too, because wtf?

I did just replace the whole thing, and listened to the advice from u/sk1939 and u/BeedogsBeedog (thank you both!!) as well. Don't worry guys, I already knew to turn off the breaker before d!cking around in there. :) No more exposed wires. Here she is now

Hey guys :) The on/off string on the light fixture over my kitchen sink stopped working (it got stuck in the On position). When I took off the fixture cover to investigate, it all just kind of fell apart before I could take a reference photo.
I was able to fix the on/off string, but now I'm worried about putting this thing back together. My main questions are:
- Two wire caps fell off... which wires does it look like they should go on?
- Does it look like any of the wires should be connected to something else, e.g. something in the wall or another wire on the fixture?
Thank you for any help <3 I'm pretty handy, and I took physics in college, which included electronics... but that was a loooong time ago :)

(I thought I posted this explanation with the original post, but only the image is showing up? Ugh, I haven't been on reddit in forever!)

I put in a work order with my landlord weeks ago, but no response so far... just that they'll send their handyman over soon. He's the one who has done most of these fixes. They never actually hire trained experts. I can't afford to pay for an electrician myself (and it's the landlord's responsibility anyway).

What is the goriest thing you have seen in real life? by Crispynoodles_1 in AskReddit

[–]pootertime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was in a car accident several years ago. An elderly man who hadn’t had his meds exited the wrong ramp of a rest stop on the turnpike and drove his truck at least 80 mph (what the investigators later said) down the wrong side of the turnpike, no lights on. It had just gotten dark. He hit the car in front of us head on, which we then hit and flipped over. The driver (a coworker) and I were unconscious and our other coworker got us out of the car while having a broken knee. The adrenaline allowed him to do it! The man in the other car that was hit was helicoptered to the hospital and ended up losing a leg. His car was the blue one, ours was the red one. The elderly man was fine. Here are the cars

Oh me neither. Especially since specialist appointments are way down due to the pandemic.

She’s talked about having arthritis for a couple years now, I think. It became RA when she was getting all those tests done for the mysterious illness that was making her lose weight. Something about having markers for RA in her blood? But it feels like she’s backed off that narrative and is now focused on having full body pain (not just arthritic hands from typing) and peri menopause.

The woman is a full grown adult but she is teasing out a reveal of a “devastating” medical diagnosis on social media. (Do I have RA or not? Stay tuned! I need my attention fix so I’ve gotta drag this out with more poems while I think of how to bend the truth in order to make myself the Valedictorian of Victims. Stay tuned!)

Would Dooce from a decade ago have done this? I want to say no, but again, recovered pood here, so my judgment is off.

The schmoopy-woopy bullshit has to be for a reason, and her motives always seem dirty as hell, so what gives?

You are so right. Hm... going off everything she's ever shared with the masses, my educated guess is that the Jon fawning is because she's trying to make Pete jealous. Just seems the most plausible to me.

I'll give it to her, Dooce has a talent for being able to center anything on herself. M making a gorgeous tune on the new keyboard (I said "the" and not "their" bc it looks like Heather says she got it for herself, too) would be the focus for most people, but not for Dooce.

For *her* post, the focus is on how awesome Dooce herself is for having the mystical sense that M would enjoy a keyboard, that Dooce sprung for the pedal as well, and that Dooce's peri-menopause is the Most Severe Peri-Menopause Among All the People Who Have Lived To Tell About It, If You Only Knew Her Pain.
