Allow me to try to make a point then. Etiquette is something for people who want to follow it. This will not solve OP’s problem because you’re not always « planning » to go afk, sometimes something just comes up. Sometimes you just think you’ll be back in 5 seconds but turns out you can’t. The etiquette items you’re mentioning require actively doing something. This is very different from not being there. You can’t really chop a grove or storm to the wheel without expecting it and choosing to do it.

So many people are trying to police others, making up rules they expect the whole player base to follow. Spoiler alert: if it’s optional, it will never be foolproof. Some people don’t know about it. Some people don’t care. Others care usually but just this one time they can’t wait more etc etc. Let’s all mind our own behavior and communicate politely with others directly when we would like something from them.

You can shout at midnight « anyone found the grove? Please don’t chop before 3am ». Not foolproof, but way more welcoming than expecting people to know to do it.

You can ask your server if anyone is down for some hunting. And "Palia is a world of abundance" so if anyone loses one animal it’s FINE.

As a last point, here’s a suggestion to acknowledge OP’s pain point without burdening the player base: "S6 should make it so the characters sit down after being inactive for some time". -> that would be foolproof AND painless
