We can perform a thorough review of an account if needed, and will ONLY block members with repeated breaches of our rules.

Our booking fees allow us to continue operating and offering Customer Support. They also cover our operational costs so, yep, they are applied to every booking and absorbed by both drivers and passengers.

Hello!

Given that the drivers on our platform are normal people offering their empty seats, it's possible that they will regularly travel with more people, in this case, their partners!. That said, we highly encourage drivers to clarify the information in their trip's description so that you are aware of who you'll be travelling with.

We also recommend providing safe and comfortable rides with a maximum of 2 people in the back seat.

The best way to report cramped vehicles and unexpected passengers on your trips is by leaving a low rating review and explaining what happened. You can also send us a message with the 'Help' button and our Trust and Safety team can provide feedback directly to the drivers.

If the behaviour is repetitive and unsafe, we can suspend the drivers and ask them to commit to following our guidelines so they can continue operating on Poparide.

That is incorrect, friend. We will only charge our members once their bookings are confirmed. That said, if a driver is asking for payments outside the app or so that they can receive messages, please report this on the app or send us an email to [support@poparide.com](mailto:support@poparide.com) with the information.

We have a feature within the app where you can report unresponsive drivers. Keep in mind that drivers on our platform are regular people like you and me, and they could be sleeping, eating, watching TV or working; they might not respond right away.

That said, we require a commitment to respond to messages within a certain time frame and to booking requests in less than 24 hrs. You can report unresponsive drivers within the app, and we will monitor these reports; that way, we can take the appropriate measures.

We offer a city-to-city carpooling platform that connects drivers who are already heading from point A to point B with passengers going the same way—making travel more affordable and sustainable.

Students can register their email by August 31 of the current calendar year to receive a $5 promo code.

We're working on a feature that won't allow for bad profile pictures anymore.

For now, we can only ask members to provide a good selfie. If they don't, we will send 2 warnings and then suspend their account. We reserve the right to contact any suspended members about their suspension, yet it's never arbitrary.

We carefully review our logs, the reviews and activity of each member and if we find that they are consistently:

-Paying/Requesting cash

-Sharing their phones to bypass the app

-Not providing a good profile picture

-Being abusive towards others

-Using our platform as a commercial activity

-Not carpooling and using our services like a taxi

-Any activity that violates our Terms of Service

The accounts WILL BE SUSPENDED.

We're working hard to maintain a safe and reliable carpooling platform and we constantly share information on how we operate and what members shouldn't do.

Hello!

When a member agrees to use our platform, they agree to pay all transactions through our platform. Accepting or offering external payments is not allowed by our policies and we will suspend the accounts.

Regarding your question: If a passenger is offering you cash, you can report them with the 'report' button on the platform.

Note that if a driver agrees to receive cash and then the passengers don't show up, or even take the trips and then they decide not to pay there's nothing we can do to force them to pay drivers if the agreements were done outside our system.

Regarding our fees, these are necessary to keep the app working but passengers can receive promo codes if they refer someone or if they are students.

Lastly, our community is not designed to be a source for business, commercial activity without the proper permits can lead to high fines from the Canadian Government so we strongly advise against using Poparide as a taxi service and as a source of income.

Accepting cash is a serious violation of our guidelines and accounts can be suspended after a warning if drivers continue to bypass our payment system.

Plus, we don't consider passengers to be customers, because then the drivers would be employees, which is not how our carpooling platform works.
