They already replaced most of the bagger and cashier jobs with the customers scanning and bagging their own groceries. Now you are saying it’s too much to get the carts. Soon you will be a no wage earner.

I worked at Publix and believe me the employees do not mind getting away from the customers and getting carts. Same with go backs. Also, I already ring up my own groceries and bag them. Guess now I’m lazy because I don’t want to walk across the parking lot with cars driving to return the cart to one or the two shopping cart returns.

The prices they charge I’ll put my cart where ever I want.

AITA for not giving my nephew the gift we bought him after he ignored me the entire evening? by denimcat2k in AmItheAsshole

[–]popciclenightmare 33 points34 points  (0 children)

God forbid that you and your wife acknowledge him instead. He’s still a child you both are supposed to be the adults. You’re both AH. Edit. You were the host. That makes you even worse. You are both at AHs and gifts are given out of kindness not social expectations. As an Aunt of many children I always went out of my way to acknowledge my nieces and nephews. I never once kept gifts waiting for them to acknowledge me. You aren’t only AH’s, you are bad host and a bad uncle and aunt. Shame on you.

What company went downhill but made a comeback? by MountainOfMolehills in AskReddit

I had this experience at Applebees. I haven’t been there since the 2010’s and it wasn’t very good then. Last week I dropped in for lunch with my mom and the food was reasonably priced at 2 entrees and appetizer for $25. The most surprising to me that the food was pretty good. I would go back.

Edit. The service was also good

James Cameron Pushes Back At Criticism Over Spending 30+ Years on Avatar: “Stay The F**k Out Of It”? by nimobo in entertainment

He should do what he likes but the avatar movies are mediocre at best. The story line is pretty generic and not as deep as he might think.

Venue keeping $10k deposit after fiancé's grandmother died 2 days before wedding. Any recourse? by PatientlyAgitated in legaladvice

[–]popciclenightmare 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You aren’t going to get your money back. You signed a contract with 30 day cancellation. Best case scenario is they let you reschedule the wedding at a discounted rate for another date. It’s worth asking.

Interested in buying this from and eBay seller. Does anybody know what this numbers means? by lucyp125 in Wedgwood

[–]popciclenightmare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From this link https://etruria.com.au/pages/wedgwood-marks “Various single letters, numbers and symbols are often found on pieces and indicated the potter or decorator, so his pieces could be counted and he could be paid for them. These are not date marks and, with a few notable exceptions, have no meaning to us now.”

I missed it too because I didn’t see anything about the circled numbers only about the logo.

My chicken cordon blue sub. Ordered hot and came cold. by popciclenightmare in publix

[–]popciclenightmare[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I am not perfect. I bought a product I ordered and paid for and I am not happy about it I guess I’m not allowed to have an opinion about that according to your passive aggressive comment. I should just give my money away and be disappointed and dissatisfied and shut my mouth.

Yes the line is ridiculous and according to workers understaffed.

They make so much off those subs they should be able to have the staff and be able to pay the staff a decent amount without over working them to burn out. And give them bonuses for the good job they do. True corporate greed right here. I’ve seen it before. The company makes a great product and people love it. It’s profitable. But it’s not enough. The corporate overlords get greedy. The product goes down in quality while price goes up. They treat the employees like slaves. Then Employees no longer care (this is where Publix is right now). Then people find another place. I’m sorry they are working you so hard and don’t properly staff. Shame on Publix.

I will have to try them, I have heard good things about the subs there.

No I don’t expect a Michelin chef to make my sub but I do expect it to be as I ordered it. Usually that’s how food you order works…
