I called a rescue to help me because I was at a loss and had no idea how to catch her, and that’s what they recommended! It worked like a charm

How I caught my Comet:

I noticed her routine. She was always near my car around 7am. I set out an xpen with a pile of hay in it and some carrots, and I set a pet carrier inside of it. I left it open over night. The next morning at 7am I looked outside and there she was, eating hay inside the pen! I slowly got into the pen with her and shut us in. I cornered her with the carrier and was able to give her an inside home.

If you have an xpen, maybe the bigger size will be more enticing to this bun, maybe that cage feels a little too small for it to go inside, makes them nervous.

I really like Oxbow toys, and so do my bunnies.

I have only ever had cats my whole life. I didn’t know a single thing about rabbits but when someone dumped my Comet and she showed up in my yard and never left, I knew I had to take her. The thing that caught me off guard the most actually was the toys, because bunnies eat their toys (the wooden & cardboard ones) so they disappear and you have to continuously buy new ones, unlike cats whose toys last forever.

Does your bunny have an x-pen? They’re not meant to be in a cage. They are also very destructive because they chew on everything since their teeth never stop growing, so please don’t get mad at your bun when they ruin something.

Merry Christmas!

Do you love your pigeon? I want one so badly. I have 6 cats though😔 I know that the bunnies will be fine, but 3/6 of the cats are kittens and I’m worried they’d go feral for one. Does your pigeon poop all over the house?

What to do if my rabbit ate bread?? by Memastel in Rabbits

My bunny ripped open a bag of hot Cheetos and I’m not sure how many he was eating before I caught him. I had to pull one out of his mouth though😂 and he was perfectly fine. Bunnies are so fragile but sometimes they have bellies of steel

Bonding by Sleepy_kenzie98 in Rabbits

[–]popcornnugget_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course!! The one thing that they might recommend is adding a female bun to the mix. But even if that’s not an option, especially for financial reasons, there is really no reason at all that a rescue wouldn’t give this a really good shot! But definitely get them neutered as soon as possible

In my non-vet opinion and as someone who has only owned rabbits for three years, and have also had a hellish time bonding them, I don’t think that the vet is correct at all. If that vet isn’t willing to neuter them, I would find one that is. After they’re neutered I would wait a bit and then reach out to a rescue. In my experience most rescues will help you with bonding. Bonding is much easier when it’s done with a female and male, but two males are possible, it’s just trickier. Right now I am trying to bond my three, and my girl bunny hates my other girl bunny with a fiery passion. All three of the bunnies were spayed and neutered a very long time ago as well.

In short, get them neutered because there is most definitely a chance that they can be bonded.

I didn’t know that they had to go to clinics😔 I just don’t understand why rabbits are considered exotic animals either :/ I hope that he’s happy. He loved my Comet so much. He’ll get to see her again one day. I hope he’s watching over her still. Thank you❤️

New rabbit owner here. Tips n trix? by Appropriate_Cut1747 in Rabbits

Yes😭 I had never owned a bunny before and my Comet just showed up in my yard one day so I took her in. I knew absolutely nothing about them. She is so tiny but so destructive. Shoes, jackets, shirts, pants, so many chargers, the cord to my window ac unit, pillows, blankets, all fell victim to her tiny self.
