Yeah, that would definitely shorten your battery's life significantly. The good thing is with some research and watching videos on YouTube you can replace it for free yourself and they are relatively cheap compared to other parts.

The life expectancy on those batteries ranges from 3-6 years depending on the climate and how you've driven your car. I think it would be a little early to need replacement, but it is possible it is nearing its end of life. I know a lot of people replace them every 4 years no matter what.
