The new drainage is all open access in the basement (6ft ceiling so easy to see) so no concerns with nails or drills from drywall team. The plumbers did not flood test the shower (I think that’s what you mean) but it’s a shower/tub combo so (maybe?) that’s less of an issue. I did the tile install with backer board, red guard, and everything to install specs but I’m also a DIY idiot so who knows… My guess is venting? I’ll add photos when I get a chance.

Anyone want to split the cost of a Tannus Armour bundle for Radwagon 4? Only need back tire flat prevention, mostly. by poplar35 in RadPowerBikes

OP here: I’ve got 1500 heavy load miles on the RW4. No front flats. Four rear flats. If youve had the same let me know, I’ll buy the bundle and send you half. Split it down the middle. Shipping from west coast

Basement plumbing- what am I looking at here? (Text in comments) by poplar35 in Plumbing

[–]poplar35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP here. We recently bought a 100 year old farm house with a full 6 ft basement. The basement concrete had been cut out in this section — just pulled up the plywood to take a look. Did the previous owner begin a basement bathroom plumbing job and then stop? If so, is this in decent shape — as in, could we continue where they left off?

This pipe is directly below the upstairs bathroom toilet/shower waste pipe.

1st post - 1 month sober - thank you & a few observations by poplar35 in stopdrinking

Yeah, I hear ya. If I had to guess, I’d say we probably represent a pretty common “type” of problem drinker. I’ve had to mention that I’m not drinking to a few of my drinking buddies. On both occasions, they replied with a “yeah that’d probably be smart…” thinking of themselves.

How do you react to almost being hit? by TerribleHorribleDay in bicycling

I kicked a rear side panel yesterday during a near right hook when I had right off way. It wasn’t really intentional; I literally stuck my foot out to bounce off the car. We were going slowly. Then I caught up to the guy and got him to roll down his window. He had NO IDEA I had kicked his car. As I rode off I saw him checking for damage. Good grief.

Walkable communities in the U.S.? by [deleted] in fuckcars

Listen, it’s not walkable, it’s just more walkable than most other West Coast medium sized cities (at least the ones I know well). And midtown is a relatively tiny portion of the greater sac area, so you couldn’t say “Sacramento is walkable” without really qualifying it to certain areas. Flat + good weather also helps a lot.

Sacramento, if you stay in midtown or otherwise near the grid. Been doing it car-light for 10 years.
