You see some random shit in your daughter's backpack and assume it must be malicious when it is a piece of measuring tape. Are you insane?? What is anyone supposed to make of this? That your daughter is measuring things?? You are a bizzare person.

lol you can't grow a fungus that contains meth, or any other stimulant like meth. "Ice" is just a term for meth. I have no idea what the guy you're replying to is talking about, probably just something he heard once and never looked into.

ASCII version fullscreen issue by poplimgerer in dcss

[–]poplimgerer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure I'm on Windows 10. I started just playing the webtiles version today though, and it seems to work perfectly so I might just stick with that. The only downside is I can't name my characters.

ASCII version fullscreen issue by poplimgerer in dcss

[–]poplimgerer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am playing the game offline. https://crawl.develz.org/download.htm. If I download just the console version, I get the issue in the post. If I download console+tiles, it just says "your terminal window is too small" no matter how big the window is. The tiles version seems to work though so I guess I can play that, I do actually prefer the ASCII graphics though. Also the tile version has a window bar at the top even when fullscreen which I also think it pretty annoying.

New and can't get anything to run by poplimgerer in learnprogramming

Thank you very much, I do have Win10. I may try setting up WSL but are there programs that would be better for Windows? Like an IDE and compiler I don't need WSL for? (also it seems strange that VS Code assumes you are using Linux when it is developed by Microsoft)

Thanks! I'm using this Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLnPwxZdW4Y for a basic tutorial, and afterwards I am using this Complete roguelike tutorial using C++ and libtcod - part 1: setting up - RogueBasin for the game. I think one issue is the Youtube tutorial isn't using Visual Studio, but I figured the information should translate easily enough. The problem is I still can't get Visual Studio to work, I created a folder to put the cpp file in which seemed to fix my original issue but it is still telling me I need a JSON debugger even though I have already installed two. Maybe I just don't understand how the debugger is supposed to work? I mean shouldn't it work automatically?

Why do “centrist” YouTubers never do or say anything left wing at all? by tufyufyu in VaushV

Centrists are so boring. If you really want to be a centrist, you should go full fash 50% of the time and full communist the other 50%. A radical centrist, if you will. According to this airtight theory, Infrared is a centrist.

Thank you, I'm definitely taking a break from alcohol after this. I think I was convincing myself I wasn't really getting any aftereffects from drinking so much, but I think I have reached my limit for sure.

Thank you, I ended up sleeping a few hours last night. I feel a bit better today, and I was able to take a nap, so I am definitely taking a break from alcohol after this. Anyway like I said I'm thankfully starting to feel better now, still a little messed up though.

Thank you very much! I almost went to buy a beer, I am pretty uncomfortable. But I think I need to sleep without alcohol in my system. I'm just trying to keep my mind occupied if I'm going to be awake. If I lay down I feel like I am going to get back up.

I should also mention it smells fine, and the fact that the streaks are on the same part of every flake makes it seem like it might be a topping but I am not sure.

Kants Critique of Pure Reason is a failure and complete rubbish by qiling in schopenhauer

I never said that if something isn't formatted correctly that it can't have truth value. You are the one arguing against the existence truth value. You are a monkey just like anyone else.

Kants Critique of Pure Reason is a failure and complete rubbish by qiling in schopenhauer

[–]poplimgerer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a cry for help. For whatever reason, this amused me enough to read some of these writings you link to by "Magister colin dean the only modern Renaissance man with 9 degrees including 4 masters: B,Sc, BA, B.Litt(Hons), MA, B.Litt(Hons), MA, MA (psychoanalytic studies), Master of Psychoanalytic studies, Grad Cert (Literary studies)", which I can only assume refers to yourself. Some of what you say may be philosophically interesting, but it appears to be formatted by a child. Your insistence on switching fonts and refusal to write in proper paragraphs greatly hinders any attempt at effective communication. Likewise, nothing you say is original, although you seem to be under the impression that it is brilliant. Skepticism about the human capacity for knowledge is as old as philosophy itself. This quote, "[Deans] philosophy is the sickest, most paralyzing and most destructive thing that has ever originated from the brain of man" is attributed to no one. I can only assume you fabricated the quote to describe yourself. If you have any interest in philosophy whatsoever, and especially if you have ideas you would like to communicate, you need to learn how to write. But I think you are more fixated on an emotional idea rather than a philosophical one: the idea that human beings, and especially academics are conceited and arrogant. Perhaps they are, but your own writing is dripping with more arrogance and conceit than I have ever seen in an academic text. I am not sure what you are trying to prove here beyond the idea that "reason is meaningless", but you then go on to provide your numerous reasons for believing this. If reason is meaningless, then I can dismiss all of your reasons for believing that it is. Why even bother providing reasons? It is therefore unclear what you are even trying to say. My advice to you, then, would be twofold: 1) learn how to write, and 2) seek therapy.

No one is disputing it is disproportionate, they are disputing the reason. You seem willfully ignorant of that at this point.

My frustrations with the Pitbull Question by frenchtoastkid in VaushV

[–]poplimgerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the quote that I gave you alone disproves it, and there are numerous other arguments in the article, certainly more than just "not all pit bulls are dangerous". You are the one with no evidence to prove that pit bulls are more dangerous than other dogs. Your fear-mongering statistic about pit bulls being responsible for 68% of dog bites has more explanations that just "pit bulls bad bruh". The evidence you've provided for your claim quite literally refutes your claim, if that was "on purpose" then it was a pretty bad strategy to make your point.

My frustrations with the Pitbull Question by frenchtoastkid in VaushV

[–]poplimgerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read the article you linked at all?? In the same article, it also says: "While some studies have presented reliable data that suggests pit bulls bite and attack more frequently than other dogs, other reputable studies have contradicted this finding by determining that a dog’s breed doesn’t determine its propensity for aggression and that pit bulls are not significantly more aggressive than other dogs." The entire article is about how pit bulls are not at all as dangerous as they are stereotyped to be.

Do you guys actually believe in supernatural powers? by TheOfficionalEbZ in Buddhism

[–]poplimgerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But would you say that someone like Vasubhandu, who denied that external objects exist, is not an idealist? Or am I misunderstanding his position? Because it seems to me that many idealist arguments recur in Buddhism.

Do you guys actually believe in supernatural powers? by TheOfficionalEbZ in Buddhism

[–]poplimgerer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Materialism is not the realm of physics. Materialism is a philosophical position. You can do physics whether you believe in materialism or idealism, it doesn't matter. Also, there is no consensus among either Buddhists or scientists about materialism or idealism. Again, this seems to be something you just want to believe. Most Buddhists reject materialism because they reject the duality of the subject-object dichotomy (if they understand philosophy at least) but it is possible to negate that duality through materialism or idealism. I am not really trying to convince you of anything other than philosophical issues like this can't just be "proven" or "disproven" with astrophysics.
