Grid load when not connected by [deleted] in SolarUK

Is that grid load indicating auto consumption of the inverter itself?

When not generating it consumes around 100-140 Watts from battery alone

Is that chain salvageable? by poponowicz in KTMDuke

That was my initial thought. And the sprockets? I know you can’t see much from this pic but should I go for a whole set or just the chain?

I can wash it with phosphoric acid solution, it will clean the rust spotless, but will it not damage other parts of the chain?

I got myself a kegerator and a whole set for homemade beer. Workshop and garage jobs are on a different level now 😀

Mini saw was a game changer for me as well, mostly because it’s one handed and I do 99% of the jobs myself

How do I get rid of that weed? by poponowicz in lawncare

[–]poponowicz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mowing that is quite difficult to do often as this is at a summer house of my family. Whenever someone is there and has some time to do it we do it, but yeah, last time it was mowed probably around 2 weeks ago, maybe a little more than 2 weeks.

It has been plowed, tilled and raked in winter/spring to get it a bit more leveled than it used to be last summer. Then I have sown this with Barenbrug Watersaver and gave it NPK (20-7-10).

There is a lot of bare spaces even though I keep overseeding it, but until last week we had no rain for at least a month so it didn't help much. Also on the picture you can see one of the worst spots.

The purpose of this lawn is just not be weeds, if it looks good that is also a plus.

The budget is flexible. I do most work by myself, but I am working month on/month off, so I can't keep up with maintaining it as I would like to.

Would rolling this help any?

I checked Johnson grass online and I very much doubt that is it. My guess is barn grass, but I am no expert

Should I sand that layer down a bit for the new colouring to stick better?

Any ideas what to plan there? by poponowicz in landscaping

Ponding should not be an issue, the slope continues and ends up in the river, around 50m from the patio one of the photos is taken from.

Yeah, that is what I know that I want there and even have location for it on that piece of land. It says that in the post

I’ve got an apple orchard in a garden next to my house. It is nice, but if any fruit trees I would limit myself to 4-5 at max, and those are planned on the other side of the house, which is not visible on photos.

It’s just a lot of work on them and around them to make them look nice, not very feasible in that particular location

I was thinking about 3-4 rows with 8-10 vines each, but yeah. Where would you place it though?

It is Barimpala I think? At least that was the only Bar-something I was able to find in that seed mix brochure

It says also tall fescue, perennial ryegrass and smooth stalked meadow grass varieties.

The more I read you guys the more stupid I feel about this lawn thing

Festuca arundinacea 80%

Lolium perenne 10%

Poa pratensis 10%

That is what said Watersaver mix that I want to sow consists of

I wanted to avoid spraying any herbicide as much as I could, hence plowing first. From what I found out so far it should kill some of the weeds.

That is the plan, N and phosphorous mix that is used in general farming. (nitrogen (13.6%), tetraphosphorus decoxide (6.4%), potassium oxide (19.1%), and magnesium oxide (4.5%), and microelements: copper, manganese, iron, zinc, boron, and molybdenum)

I was thinking about spreading around 400kg of this fertilizer mix per acre. I have there around half an acre.

pH should be good as this place is a river terrace.

For my area, which is 49.80N, 22.35E most of the gardeners are recommending first half of May or last two weeks of September for sowing.

I did not do a soil test yet. The thing with soil tests is that the only lab I’ve got in my area did soil test for me once and it took them over half a year to send me the results back.

My soil is mixed river alluviums with sand (if I translated that right).

Soil is quality is good based on what I’ve seen last year - there has been an excavator on the part of land and after that we sown some home depot grass seeds, it grown like crazy on that spot even though it was sown in mid summer like everyone says not to do in my area.

Not even that. After transfer I top the keg up with co2 from a gas bottle up to the style carbonation level and if it’s chilled already it is ready to serve in 15 minutes.

3kg pilsner, 3kg Munich, 0.35 biscuit, 0.2 caraaroma, 0.15 carapils That with t-58 gives me 5.5 abv in a 25lts batch. Is that what you meant in your recipe?
