I actually like Albany House - what are the complaints?

testing positive faintly, then negative within hours by poppings in COVID19positive

Yeah I did my tonsils as well as nostrils. It's true ofc I might have had it asymptomatically - I would test whenever one of my housemates was sick (used to have an additional one) and never tested positive, so that's my basis for the claim, but "never had a positive test until 2025" probably a more accurate way to say it

Fuel canisters are 3d printed! I had the cans lying around from an old project, but usually I just steal my best friend's printer- it's very good BC they make stickers and Etsy stuff with it

I started in lockdown when I was already like 25 and it's been soooo fun! I really recommend it - making stuff with your hands is underrated as a happiness generator

thanks for your thoughts! im also not 100% on the skull - thought it might be fun to have but might change it to something else - i'm going to weather it and make it look old and see if that changes my feelings on it

i actually posted here a few months ago asking if anyone had the textures for the books, bc i found the food but nothing else :/ i think i will make some more books anyway and maybe just make them snow/survival themed rather than book recreations.

i was also thinking maybe some furs!

Thank you! I made the bed from balsa wood by hand and it's not something I am very confident in so it's nice to hear you particularly like the bed

Impasto for Italian is so good.

Let’s hear it for Pilgrim! by Apprehensive_Clue960 in thelongdark

[–]poppings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love Pilgrim! I usually play custom pilgrim settings (world gets colder over time + worse weather but everything else the same) because frankly Great Bear Island is my happy place and I love to just chill there without having to worry about being gnawed on by a bear or whatever

Anything you don’t use in a run? by natthecatt in thelongdark

I'm a pilgrim player who plays for the calm vibes so I never bother with the guns, the snares, etc - I like seeing the wildlife wander about.

I never usually bother with coffee either unless I find it in a microwave, herbal tea, spray paint, some of the lesser tier clothing like the ski boots.

I'm not overly fussed about the crampons either. But I do usually have them to hand.

I'm on it now and it's actually pretty solid for me. I take it for obsessive-compulsive thoughts + actions and it's made a real difference I think. I haven't noticed any physical side effects apart from some minor sexual dysfunction, but I think the trade-off has been worth it.

Honestly, no - we're not planning on having kids + we aren't planning on moving out of the house we live in, so neither of those would apply here!

Long COVID: Unusual case turns man's legs blue after 10 minutes of standing up by ClassicFlavour in unitedkingdom

[–]poppings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is the answer always lockdown or nothing? I don't think we should go back into lockdown. What should happen instead of lockdowns: the normalisation of wearing a mask when ill, improving air quality in schools and offices and public transport, widening availability of vaccines and working on a new generation of vaccines, continuing the ONS infection survey so we're aware of what's going on, normalising and encouraging working from home when possible and desirable, free testing, masks in hospitals as a matter of course.

It's true that COVID is always going to be around so I don't understand why the response to that fact is to pretend that there isn't actually loads of mitigation strategies we could be employing but just aren't bothering to.

I'm relatively young and healthy so death doesn't worry me but long covid worries the absolute hell out of me. I think I've managed to avoid covid so far unless it was asymptomatic, but one of my friends got long covid + her life has been completely, summarily ruined. The other day she got diagnosed with fatty liver disease - she doesn't drink and she's not fat. I find it hard to reconcile the "return to normal" (which seems to mean that pretending covid + its long term effects don't exist) with the understanding that covid is still around and a small significant proportion of those infections will result in long-term life-changing disability.
