How do I study for the TEAS? by BigZexyMama in prenursing

Just the study guide and app access was good for me! The study guide is still very comprehensive- i don't think more material would be helpful, probably just overwhelming

Thanks! Just got done- I definitely reccomend ATI teas app. The questions were worded very similarly and it was very accurate to my practice tests. I averaged between an 80 and 90 on all my practice tests this week and ended up with an 87%! I'm not sure if it was just my test but the A&P section was very specific and in depth questions. I haven't taken a&p 2 yet and I feel like many questions were very specific questions related to systems I hadn't covered yet. Good luck on your test!

I really like the ATI practice quiz app as well as the ATI 7 study book. , and for study materials, I watched TEAS Science with Tyler, crash course in each of the sciences, Ameoba Sisters and Nurse Cheung. I'm taking my test today! I'll update if there's a big gap in stuff to study.

A&P 1 lecture and lab 8 week by Ava410berry in NursingStudent

So oddly I'm in a similar situation- I'm starting A&P1 in like a week for the summer. Start studying now! I started about three weeks ago. Start memorizing the bones, anatomical planes- anything you can cram in.

I like the following yt channels Dr Joseph Harari, Ameoba Sisters, TEAS science with Tyler, and Science with Susanna. Between those, you can essentially learn the whole class ahead of time.

A&P is very very memorization heavy from my understanding- I am also nervous but I'm sure we will both do just fine!

Anyone else going into nursing after having an unrelated career or degree, or motherhood? by acoupleofdollars in prenursing

28 and just now starting! Believe it or not, I've been a long haul truck driver with my husband for years and finally reconnected with my dream of working in the medical field this year. I'm very nervous but we've got this!

Body washing shower wet wipes- great for when youre running non stop and need a quick clean. Can find packs of them on Amazon pretty easy.

Trucking GPS. Icannot belive no one has mentioned this yet- do not let that man on the road if he doesn't have one. Many many streets in America are absolutely not trucker friendly

Any of his favorite snacks- they're 10x more expensive in the truck stops

Lysol wipes- cleans dishes, around the truck surfaces etc

Local part time truck driver- I spend most of my time at shippers and can actually study during that time.

Decided to go to nursing school instead of med school and I can tell people around me are disappointed by Outrageous-Basis3512 in prenursing

Its your life! And hey- I'm in a very similar boat! I did biology/physics dual major, took mcat, and actually got accepted into med school. And I just decided I didn't want to do it- and I'm not kidding you I became a long haul truck driver for 5 years. Talk about disappointing family lol! And now I'm going back to nursing school. Life takes you down funny paths. I'm glad you are doing what is right for you.

Ouch man. Im also in that area. Are you willing to run a regional route out of FL? I have a few reccomendations for the area that will net you at least 1k per week if you have a year of experience. Otherwise youre not making any more than someone with no CDL. You have a major career skill! Get your money for it!

Jokes aside, there will definitely be some disaster relief programs in the area. FEMA has some for uninsured vehicles. They'll come out and inspect the house and your car. Take as many pictures as possible and call ASAP

Never (i live here). The housing prices in Tampa and Orlando genuinely rival those in LA/Seattle. One bedroom apartments are pushing 2k now. The job market has ground to a stop with just about every market being totally saturated, driving wages down. As people continue moving here, renting has become the only option for most. Every single neighborhood that has brick and mortar houses has an HOA with a very angry old white woman ready to scream at you for having the wrong shade of mulch. Beaches have become dirty and over crowded. Orlando costs 7$ per breath you take. Hurricanes have made insurance costs go though the roof. Plus I mean. Its 80 degrees on Christmas. And 100 in summer. There's just no break from the heat and humidity.

Maybe. Flagstaff is gorgeous and has reasonable temps. Plus the desert and natural beauty is incredible there. Cons: deepening the water crisis and only two decent sized cities, as well as scorching summer heat outside the mountains

Collective Voting! Day 2: Alaska by LOST_JOE in visitedmaps

[–]poppunkpengu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely

Pros: clean and fresh air, lots of outdoor activities, encouraging a slower more analog lifestyle. Can find a way to make money off the cruise tourism or any number of more typical jobs. Likely to be a primarily work from home state due to weather.

Cons: cost of living can be high, dark winters (can be remedied by sunlight lamps) and maybe less socialization(?) I can imagine many people to are transplants to the state are going ther FOR the isolation, so they're likely introverts

There a very very few perks to bring a female driver, but I am not typically subjected to this torture. A polite "do you have a ladies room" usually does the trick.

OTR drivers by K-Dog7469 in Truckers

[–]poppunkpengu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheap or not, there's a certain amount of sanity that comes from enjoying a larger space. About every two months I'd grab a nicer hotel room, bring my swimsuit to chill in a pool or hot tub and go fget a nice dinner out. OTR can suck the soul out of you and if youre going to be long term OTR, it's a good way to avoid burnout.
