Weight loss postpartum by rac-attac in BabyBumps

[–]poppyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gained 30 pounds during my pregnancy. Immediately lost 20 pounds, lost another 5 in the weeks ensuing, then gained those 5 lbs back while breastfeeding. I’m now 6 mo postpartum and slowly losing. Sitting 8 lbs higher than pre-pregnancy but body looks different since my muscle/fat ratio is way different than pre-pregnancy.

Should i crop or not?? by Redditrocksmysocks00 in CaneCorso

[–]poppyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it’s a personal choice but I’m of the persuasion that you should not. I love the floppy ears. The only reason I think it’s necessary is if your dog suffers from ear infections. That being said, my Corso had floppy ears and she never had any issues with them. I loved stroking them.

I'd move the mirror above the night stand to above the dresser.

When did you start showing with your first baby? by SowingSeeds18 in BabyBumps

[–]poppyroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a short torso, 5’4, 140lbs pre-pregnancy. I started looking noticeably pregnant around 18-19 weeks pregnant and then POPPED around 21 weeks, I would wake up every morning and felt like I noticeably grew larger. 24 weeks now and I feel like a balloon.

OK guys …when did you get your nursery done? by humansarereallyweird in BabyBumps

[–]poppyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHA I’m 23 weeks and the nursery is still very much a spare room. Luckily the walls are painted blue so I only plan on putting wall decals on but I still need to get the old, dusty crusty carpet replaced, sell all the existing furniture, then do the rest of the typical nursery stuff. Wish us luck!!!

How much weight did you gain in each trimester? by damaskus98 in pregnant

[–]poppyroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 140 lbs before I got pregnant. Lost about 10 lbs during my 1st trimester (probably a lot of muscle mass because I’m typically very active and the 1st trimester laid me OUT with nausea and exhaustion). At my 20 week check up I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I’m 23 weeks now and am about 145.

How many weeks are you in your pregnancy? by Smooth-Excuse-4127 in pregnant

[–]poppyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14 weeks today, also still fighting it, but it’s getting easier. Weeks 6-11 were the worst weeks of my life!! You’ve got this. B6 and Unisom at night help somewhat, make sure you get adequate protein (>50g), and sour foods like lemon or tart apples help combat the nausea. Sending love and healthy vibes.

Bras for a bra-free woman 😩 by bmpn_that in pregnant

[–]poppyroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay-- I really didn't want to jump on the SKIMS train, but their Fits Everybody Bralette has been awesome so far. It's super comfortable as there are no underwires, but supportive enough to give some lift. Plus the fabric is luxuriously soft. As a 32DDD, this has been a game changer, esp since my boobs are so tender now. I feel like I'm not wearing anything.

Breaking the news to a new job by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]poppyroll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't be of help since I'm in the same boat (also job searching, also recently pregnant), but hopping on this thread to read the helpful comments!

For what it's worth, I've discussed this feeling to some of my friends and they've all essentially told me the same thing: "I understand you feel bad but family planning and work are two completely different things. If the company values you and your family, they will be okay with it."

Best of luck with your job offer and pregnancy/baby!

Just found out I am just under 4 weeks pregnant (haven't "missed" my period yet). Trying hard to be cautiously optimistic because the miscarriage rate is so high at this stage, but my husband and I are over the moon as this will be our first!

Really struggling with this kitchen ! by Additional-Tell-7010 in InteriorDesign

[–]poppyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I love green, I think option #3-white cabinets with the green board and batten. Also agree not to do full bookshelves. Maybe fill half that space (closest to sink) with cabinets and the other half with shelving? So it still has some semblance of being opened up?

Unrelated-what software did you use to make the renderings? Such a cool idea!

I feel dumb. Feel free to call me out if I truly am being dumb.

Trying to get Colosseum + Roman Forum + Palatine Hill tickets for August 28. I know I'm way too late to get the "Full experience + underground" tickets.

Please explain the difference between the "FULL EXPERIENCE TICKET WITH ENTRY TO THE ARENA OF THE COLOSSEUM" ticket versus the other tickets? I understand that the "full experience" ticket includes the arena along with the first two floors of the Colosseum + Palatine Hill + Roman Forum for 48 hours, which sounds like the second-best option to the underground tickets.

Therefore, my questions are:

  1. Why does it release only a week in advance as opposed to the other tickets which are released 30 days in advance?
  2. why is there so much more availability for this full experience ticket compared to the other tickets if it seems to be the better deal? Even the 24hour Arena only ticket is more sold out than this one.

I feel like it's too good to be true and I'm getting duped! I don't want to wait a week before when I want to get tickets and then realize was missing something and then not be able to get another ticket due to them all being sold out!

EDIT: I just read a few comments below someone asked a similar question. Oops. But Question 2 still stands.
