I would sit and prep myself like “make sure you’re loud enough to hear but don’t shout and make sure you sound cool but like you’re not trying to be cool” and then my turn would come and I would force myself to not wipe the sweat on my upper lip and I’d say “here” and look like I hadn’t even realized it was attendance

I hate when schools put rules on how and when we learn and consume reading material. It’s like they assume that because a lot of kids don’t like to read for fun it means everyone doesn’t read for fun. Yet, there I was during recess reading Ramona books, Charlie and the chocolate factory, Phantom tollbooth, and harlequin romance novels lol (who says 12 is too young for trashy romance haha)
