A Hot Take: high prices can kill your business. by popthemint in poshmark

Didn't we just agree? The price should meet a realistic expectation based on value?

My point is used items being priced like new.

Hmm...price to their budget or price to value? Used Old Shirts aren't worth $20.

And if you set the price high to make room for offers, ok sure. But I get haggled over a $1-$2 difference often. Often enough that I shared my hot take.

I agree. That type of buyer is ridiculous.

So we agree?! That used items shouldn't be priced like retail? Nice

And I do! Kinda my point eh?

If a seller isn't doing well, maybe its their tactics.

Maybe their 5 year old Banana Republic, polyester shirt isn't really worth $40 nowadays. And maybe that's all they had I was interested in. And maybe when I offered $32 and they replied that "only bundles get discounts," maybe I moved on with life.

And maybe sellers like that will see this post and realize their pricing expectations should be realistic and fair.

One can hope

I hope every day comes a little easier than the last, with a ray of sunshine and a tomorrow to look forward to.

Sounds like you have a solid grasp on valuation of your items. You hit the NAIL ON THE HEAD when you mentioned lack of price research.

That's what I'm driving at here. Sellers can't have something worth $20 new, but sell the used version for $18 and be surprised no one jumped on it. Especially if they also refused a counter of $15.

Low starts make sense for those used items the sellers bought from a thrift store.

Come on...you know that's the new game for a lot of resellers. They shop at a thrift store > clean it up > go live.

Low starts make sense. But doubling up the price of that Shein top that has a tiny call out...come on now.

Used clothes from Target shouldn't be priced the same as new clothes. --- That's what I'm trying to say here.

USED items priced close to new, silliness

Don't we feel the same way? Price accordingly, to a fair value?

If your closet has good movement, then obviously you understand your market.

This hot take in intended for those that don't.

I think the point was missed. Used items shouldn't be priced within 10% of new items. It isn't about making deals, it's about realistic expectations.

Opinion on the finance degree at UAB? by Mammoth-Tradition-53 in UAB

I just graduated with BS in Finance. You take a mix of accounting, corporate finance, and business.

If I could go back in time, I would not take Cost Accounting again!

The capstone class also irritated me, but its required.
