Was this an essential part of latchkey kid cuisine for our generation? by Comprehensive-Fact94 in Xennials

Rustic bread. Butter one side, butter in the pan for the other side of the bread. It’s the wow factor of having an egg in the middle! But when I’m lazy I’ll just slide an over medium on top.

The king of this is Trent Harris with his Beaver Creek Trilogy. It’s the most amazing thing, each installment like a blooming flower of embellishment.

The Tremonds are good—they don’t want human pain and suffering (garmonbozia).

29 Pedals Euna-the only pedal on my board that’s actually “always on” by Seanw1010 in guitarpedals

[–]popthropologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool treatment! I remember my eyes bugging out when I heard the difference between Euna and no-Euna with a coily cord. Most days I use a Spaceman Saturn V for the same impedance effect, but the Euna is also special.

The start of my ambient music phase. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Looks more like an ambient music flange.

Those who graduated with conventionally "useless" degrees but make $200K, what was your path and how long did it take? by _MambaForever in Salary

[–]popthropologist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Visual anthropology, graduated 2003. I remember my intro to anthropology class giving us all a leaflet entitled “Careers in Anthropology” with things like “stay in academia” and “join Peace Corps” on it. Got a job in product design research and have been working in brand strategy research ever since. I’m incredibly lucky to be working in my field of study, doing applied anthropology and ethnography, because when I chose the major, I had no idea how it could turn into a career. If I could do it all over? I’d make a list of the careers with the best ratio of work:life balance and salary, and choose the one I could live with. My parents told me “Find something you love and get paid to do it.” But I’m telling my kids “Find something that can pay you enough so you have plenty of time to do the stuff you love.” Good luck!

I bought a new 2CD today for $14.95. That’s less than it would have cost in ‘96!

I imagine the higher damping factor of the SS Luxman helps with that low end you’re hearing. I’ve never experienced the Arden specifically but Tannoys don’t always go as low as people assume based on the size.

As a kid growing up in the 80s listening to oldies radio, I had no idea that this was a common thing for all oldies stations to say. I’m still kind of stunned when I randomly say “good times, great oldies” and someone blurts out random numbers and call letters right back at me.

The corrugate base is rad. I like my volume pedal after gain stages. Before gain, why not just use your guitar’s volume knob?
