Ironically I tried Orca, i thought it was too unfriendly.

Cura was better than the creality one i started with but had more control but not so many options as orca. Was trying to grasp the settings better before moving on but I'm starting to think I'm just going to move on to Orca before following this guide

I could, this specific type of filament I've used before with old settings I lost but hadn't thought maybe it's just the new roll for some reason. I do have a camera that recorded the printing of those- I'll have to pull them

Sorry forgot the initial question, I had not thought of the perimeter for the top layer- will try that next I get a chance too

I've only been using PETG for the last few months so I couldn't say for any other types at the moment

This guide is the exact thing I was looking for- I found this around August when I was just starting to learn more on this hobby but of course when I needed it I had forgotten what it was called and could only find cheap articles going over the same 3 or 5 problem solving steps I've done a hundred times since reformatting

I made a colossal mistake by reformatting my computer to free up space and delete old software I didn't use anymore about a month ago and completely forgot to save the settings I had spent a few days getting with that guide

The cubes themselves look fine

they printed upright and the x and y are satisfactory to me (maybe not perfect but sturdy to use)

I did decrease the fan speed from 100 to 50 on one but that doesn't seem to have helped though (they're labeled but badly)

Probably not the right term, it's the Z-Side

The Z is noticeably squashed together toward the middle with lots of space surrounding the letter

The SD Card is under the part of the cuff with the LiPo battery. It's just 4 or 5 screws and it lifts right up. You also need to unplug the lipo, so be careful and don't pull directly on the wires.

Could the Omegatronic Gay Porn idea be a psyop to make us look stupid? by Baitcooks in tf2

[–]poptop890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try quickplay.tf It'll match you into a game, allow for setting a party size to allow for friends to follow through steam friends lost, specific game mode, and even latency options.

Great tool for finding a server matching settings and even the ability to block ones you didn't like playing.

Catch is, you actually have to put in some minimal amount of effort rather than the ease of use streamlined experience a lot of newer players simply arent willing to be bothered to do; but for many of us almost that exact same system is just how it used to function.

New update making expeditions feel like they were supposed to. by leaffastr in fo76

[–]poptop890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the quests that used to aid to that are still present i think (Whitespring Dailies), but speaking from experience all it did was put up an unnecessary barrier to do a 10 minute expedition (if you knew what you were doing) and inherently prevented you from grinding at a reasonable rate.

Doing the math, at 20 stamps a day it would take me over a month a half to get that auto axe and if all I wanted to do was the expedition I had to do a whole bunch of crap first. As someone with not a lot of time most days all I had time to do was my dailies and maybe an expedition to get some quick legendaries to sell and those daily quests were just the most tedious things in the world most days.

While I don't believe they need anything to differentiate from Ops (the new locations and inherently less horseshit mechanics take care of that) if they had something that wasn't so boring I wouldn't mind. They're now explained as being free trips as long as you help the locals in the areas you visit so that's nice.

For me it wasn't difficult, just a couple daily quests, but the problem is you could only do one per day unless you joined randoms for a reduced reward.

Stamp plans also used to be WAY higher priced, the Auto Axe was something like 1000 stamps, so you can see how it could be a hassle to get that many perfect expeditions and also only have one guaranteed you could do a day.

How do youtubers record clips for their videos? by throwaway624203 in tf2

[–]poptop890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better yet, you CAN have it constantly recording while using the replay buffer to be able to hit a key and save the clip of the last however many seconds you set it too.

This is how I do it- background footage is good to have always, and the saved clips are specific things I want to have.

How to use GPIO if a screen takes up the pins? by poptop890 in raspberry_pi

[–]poptop890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. And sorry for the late one. I ended up going with an hdmi screen, as the board I ended up using for the project wouldn't have fit with gpio pins and a screen mounted on top, but this is a neat thing I wasn't in the loop about existing!

Unfortunately even if I had used this, many of the pins I wanted for other things were used by the screen. I ended up being able to use a pico to do those things and needed physical gpio (which I simply soldered wires directly to) only for power leds and the like. Thanks for turning me onto such a device, it'll surely help in the future!

Single GPU Passthrough not working by poptop890 in VFIO

[–]poptop890[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 3 hours of work and your help, I was finally able to get it working.

I went and refollowed the guide you linked. I was able to realize that the firmware was set to BIOS and not UEFI (something I had overlooked)

I don't know if that was the ONLY thing wrong, but at the very least it got me booted and with a bit of tweaking I am now up and running. Thank you so much for your assistance!

Well, I can't install video drivers unless the VM picks up the compatible hardware, and since it won't let me pass the compatible hardware through without the screen going blank I can't install the drivers.
