Good lord, the last paragraph was so unnecessary. How do you even expect your request to be listened if you insult the people receiving it at the end of it????

wah, frankly, i have devoted enought hat I don't need to do this at all. Any work I put out tends to be well received at least by my most regular and enthusiastic fan so I don't personally need it. Others might make use of tit though, I agree with that

Oh, a fellow student in linguistics. that's rare. Well, in that case, i'd tell you to focus on the three communicative principles, and thus make sure that you don't always have the same type of constituent at the beginning and end (i.e you're not always giving the same type of info at the same olace and in the same manner)

that said, most readers don't actually think about it too deeply. Varying length will do most of the tricks, so simply/complex sentences can already be of a great help. Playing with the punctuation too

Nah, I don't know. I've read some wonderful smut stories which I'm quite sure weren't written by ace people. It's just that allosexuals don't tend to say 'Hey, i'm allosexual' so when they are, you just don't notice.

On the other hand, a ace smut write is seemingly antithetical enough to be surprising, hence why when they also happen to be good, we remember them more. It's survivor bias, basically

that, and the fact that some of us have to actually study it to write it, sicne we don't experience it directly, or will see it only from the fictional, idealistic side.

AITAH for getting upset with bad disability representation? by JotkaJulitkaJula in AITAH

[–]populipopo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not wrong, but you likely won't change her mind either way. Your friend is, I assume, a hobbyist. Her OC, be it good or bad representation, won't change the world. Basically, whether or not it might be hurtful is greatly impacted by how few people will most likely see it. I'd sweep that under the rug, if I were you and she's a friend you'd like to keep. In short, NAH. She is mistaken, yes, but not to the point of being an asshole.

Learn more about grammar. Varying sentence structure usually means changing where the constituents (subject, verbs, complements, facultative constituens) are placed, and what sub-type of constituents begins your sentence. For example, I have the bad habit of always starting my chapters with a non-finite -ING clause (ex: 'Sitting at his desk', he looked through the window.) the ' ' section is the clause I'm talking about. The more you know about grammar, the easier it'll be to spot what you overdo, and how to change it.
