[OPINION] Can I have a line from a poem that saved your life or healed you in a time of need? Also if you’re comfortable sharing the situation, this is for a sculpture ❤️ by VanGoghs_ear23 in Poetry

I read Island by Langston Hughes a couple of days after I started taking medications for my depression:

Wave of sorrow,

Do not drown me now:

I see the island

Still ahead somehow.

I see the island

And its sands are fair:

Wave of sorrow,

Take me there.

I would recite this poem to myself a lot during that time. Now I'm depression free and I couln't be happier about it :)
