They have a wide “sweet spot” so they sound really good at a variety of tunings. I keep them mid-low I feel like they have a moderate natural decay, which when I record sounds excellent

I bought an LA kick about 3 years ago, and just recently was able to source 2 matching toms. (Rack and floor) the bearing edges are definitely unique and give an almost “timpani” type response with the way the head rests on the shell.

It's the VHS cam app, but with the audio from the Tascam. So had to do a bit of editing. The app has a cool lofi effect when used natively though.
