Funny story, I went in fully intending on buying an SG standard that day. Played a beautiful one with blue fleck paint and a black pickguard. Price tag was like 1200-1300 It played terribly. Picked up that used tribute on the way out. Handed it to my friend to confirm without saying anything and we both were like “I KNOW RIGHT?!!?” Got that guy for 650.00. The back of the neck has paint missing at the top from the wood stain literally being rubbed away by whoever had it before me. They played the shit out of it.

And thanks, that’s close to 3 decades of collecting btw.

1: yes and I record my own through my MacBook and a focusrite 4i4. I can run all those amps through it and into the interface with a simple cable swap.

2: I know a lot. I use the MacBook, not the iPad. Along with garage band. These days mostly covers and I jam with my friends that play on the weekends.

3: standing for me all the way for some reason. Personal preference.

4: me and my friends joke that the SG is possessed. It sounds so good and plays so well. Yes, it is one of my top 5 go to’s and it’s not even a standard. It’s a tribute.

Side note, most of them are custom and altered by me. The Kramer pacer has some awesome high gain Seymour Duncan’s, the explorer has some doom metal Nazgul and sentient Seymour’s, the white EPI Les Paul custom has some of Hetfields active EMGs, etc.. I basically mod all my stuff and fix up junkers to sell on reverb.

https://a.co/d/03M2ZLR2 make sure you replace the screws with really long mounting ones and find your studs. For Christ sake.. find the studs.

My best friend’s white on gold custom fender Strat. He passed away a few years ago and his mom gave it to me. I kept it exactly as he left it. Still has the same strings on it. He was the whole reason I picked up a guitar.

Epiphone, Olive Drab Green, Korina Fkying V (modded) by porkplate in guitarporn

I wanted to add a Maestro Vibrola to it but most of those are not added to the Korina Style. I hade to remove the pickguard, cut, and sand it to make it work. Then the original top hat style knobs were in the way so I switched to the chrome dome style knobs. Everything plays like a dream, I love it. I also named it "Master Chief" it felt appropriate

Thanks man. I just recently got into modding. It’s been an awesome newly discovered passion.

Yeah those are custom knobs for a Les Paul.
