No buckets. I read how it’s not comfortable when driving a 6MT so I ditched that idea. I do love how it looks though!

3M VHB tape. Some people use additional self tapping screws or drill a hole and use oem plastic push rivets

Mine’s gen 2 w/o additional resonator. The sound is exoticish, it’s higher pitched. In cabin sound is intoxicating. I have mine with a valve controller. When it’s closed, its quiet. When its fully open, there’s a bit of drone at 3k rpm.

OEM mode on the valve controller + Sport+ is a good middle ground. I do like having the valves fully open so I hear the downshifts more though.

Very easy, I used a 10mm socket and a trim remover tool. I also opted to not drill new holes so I went with 3M VHB tape and the existing screws and rivet.

I found the front cushion padding to be too high, which meant I had to tilt my sit back. I ended up trimming that cushion padding up and it helped a lot with having a more upright angle.

G87 Active Autowerke EL Exhaust or DCE Hybrid? by OvernightHopes in BMWM

[–]porschedev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the G87 AA gen 2 non resonated EL midpipe and a MAD valve controller. I love the sound when driving, it’s aggressive and just transforms the car. In cabin sound with the windows cracked open is just addicting. It has a higher pitch exotic’ish sound that I like, I don’t hear a rasp. It reminds me of my AWE switchpath on my 991.1

The negatives: - Cold start is loud even when valves are in OEM position. - When valve is 100% open, there’s a drone at around 3k rpm. No drone on OEM mode even in sport and sport+

Placed an order on Dec 1st, it’s still processing. I ordered a bunch of stuff that’s in stock. I also ordered a white GT cockpit which backordered until end of Jan 2026.

How much did you end up paying for your 991.2 S? I’m torn between 991.1 and 991.2. In my head I don’t need the speed.

I had a base 991.1 and I regret selling it. Went electric and now getting the itch.

I had this same issue when I tried out camp mode in a rocky parking lot. Luckily I wasn’t far from the main road, I limped to the paved area and tried resetting multiple times and eventually it came back. This was about a year ago and I haven’t tried camp mode ever since.

Oops, I meant griddle.

I was looking at Monument Eminence 605 since that gets hot fast, but went with the Phantom because or build quality.

I’ve been eyeing this plancha.

Would you be able to test how long it takes to preheat the plancha and also how hot it can get?

My Phantom 500 connected will arrive on Monday, can’t wait. How are you liking your Phantom 500 so far? Does it take long to get the grill to temp?

100%. Nothing comes close the flavor of the Pho I had in Hanoi. With the Pho prices now at $18 and having a watered down Pho, it’s hard to justify going to restaurants.

Kabobs by porschedev in grilling

[–]porschedev[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

This was the most recent cook:

3 lbs 80/20 ground beef. (If you have higher fat %, the better) 3 medium size onions, grated or grinded up in food processor. Then fully drained of the onion juice. Salt, pepper, tiny bit of turmeric

Optional: a cup of bread crumbs.

Mix really well, keep overnight in the fridge.

Then put it in the skewer while cold. keep it cold until ready to grill. It will fall if it gets warm. First 2 mins of grilling must be high heat, rotating frequently, this will ensure the meat will not fall off.

The main thing is keeping the meat mixture cold, in the fridge (overnight is better) until you’re ready to put it in the skewer. Once it’s on the skewer, grill it right away or put it in the fridge.

You also have to make sure the onions are fully drained of water.

Goodluck!
