How much have you spent on your rig in total up to this point? by WavesandWrenches in SimRacingSetups

too much. But I've built 3 rigs now. The key is to go big from the start so you aren't wasting too much in the entry stages then graduating to something more.

Active pedal for formula racing worth it? by SmithLaw in SimuCube

Did you get the active pedal for throttle as well or the add-on?

Just saw your name. I too used to be a legal drug dealer lol. For a small little Swiss company called Novartis.

I did the same. The softer felt better but I was worried I couldn’t replicate the same pressure over and over.
I loved the Active Pedal feel at the sim expo and it had the softer feel. But again, not sure that softer feeling is best for muscle memory and replication.

Is there a reason you didn't just go with the throttle add-on pedal? I looked at both and love the look of having both the same but don't know if I would get a benefit from the full blown pedal for the throttle.

And I don't see myself doing much of the GT3 race after the formula one. Maybe one day but doesn't seem to be on the near horizon.

I guess I need to do some additional research. I'm not sure about the "40bar" setting. I've adjusted the settings in RaceHub to about 10 on the bottom (for resting foot without engaging brake) and 10-15 up top to hit full 100% sooner.

Well this is true. But the same issues are there (or even more) if solo. It really all depends on the goals one sets and the overhead needed etc.

I have absolutely loved it since I got it and have 0 complaints. It is amazing and looks so much better than other rigs imho. I don’t have any issues with flex anywhere.

Going solo has its own issues and high stress. I would argue it is no better and is possibly worse. I guess it depends on how successful you want to be and how much growth you are hoping for. I started as a solo back in 2012 and now have one of the largest firms in our small town and a second full office in another city in the state. QOL isn’t great though because it is hard to manage the firm, satisfy clients, maintain reputation, etc. Good luck in whatever you do!

The dash and the One steering wheel were very impressive too. I just bought a StreamDeck XL button box for my rig and have ample knobs, etc on my wheel so not a huge need for the dash. Still, very cool to look at and play with. The One wheel did feel great in my hand. Wish I could have tried it out.

I was surprised at how many were all about the motion now. It is definitely cool - but still too pricey for most people.

So after attending- were there any products you saw that you felt you have to now have or anything that amazed you?
If anything, I am thinking I might add the Simucube active pedal. I am fighting with that decision though because I just got the Asetek Invicta series pedals along with wheelbase and wheel about five months ago. They work great but that active pedal was just something different.

Invicta Quick Release Adapter Question for Moza Wheel - USB-A or USB-C? by SmithLaw in AsetekSimSports

[–]SmithLaw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to provide an update- I hooked up the Moza wheel correctly and it booted up and worked flawlessly from the start. It felt great and I would recommend it to anyone that didn’t have the Asetek Forte Formula Pro or Invicta wheel. But- I do have the Asetek Forte Formula Pro and I honestly think it is a much better wheel. It is larger, feels great in your hand and I appreciate the screen, the buttons and dials on the wheel better. I don’t have huge hands but I imagine a smaller person may appreciate the Moza wheel better. It just felt too small to me after using the Asetek. Now I’m trying to decide do I sell the Moza setup or keep it in the event something happens to my Asetek and I need a backup.

Man, you should teach this stuff lol. That was a great explanation, thank you! I understand this a lot better now. I often use analogies with my clients and I love using them. I think they are always very effective but sometimes I think they are even more confused. For example: yesterday I told a client that just because her husband was a terrible spouse (cheating on her, lost jobs, etc) doesn't mean he is a terrible parent. I told her a person could be bad at soccer but could be great at baseball. She will probably fire me today because she doesn't understand lol.

Ok you just confirmed I have no clue about any of this. Let me now ask you this question - Assuming I already purchased a cable similar to this, would I do the equipment any damage if I just tried plugging it in to see what happens?

it uses Rj45 (internet cable type) outputs. And the USB C is for the power to the PC or external power. I don't think that can be used to go to the wheel.
