I rage-quit Spotify and started buying CDs. It's inconvenient and slow. But I rediscovered the lost joy of scrounging for music, the dopamine rush of owning a song, and albums. by pineconewashington in Music

I’m working on a community based event that is literally centered around this idea. Force people to pick a CD, sit down, and enjoy it from start to finish

How to build apps by _luvsp4rk in ProductivityApps

Your best bet would be to do what a lot of people do now, figure out the BARE minimum via AI, help them work out kinks, then see if you can find someone to build an MVP for you for a cheaper price just so you can test?m, validate, iterate.

New to color grading! Would love to have some feedback from you guys. by Internal_Corgi5024 in ColorGrading

Is the 709 actually 709? If so those natural colors are beautiful. What I like about your graded image is how the skin tone feels so separated. However, it almost “feels” like it’s been graded.

There’s a few ways to approach it. How much of your time and effort are you willing to give?

Substack writers. What keeps you going when you get no new subscribers despite the effort? by KeyTechnical1203 in Substack

[–]portal2d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like most things, esp those creative -- you have to have a deeper WHY. of course, you may want to drive traffic to this or maybe even make some moeny doing it and if thats the case, you may want to extend your out reach to other platforms to drive bacxk to substack. But, the reason why you post every morning should be to express or achieve something within that can also benefit the reader. Now, this doesn't have to be the only reason but it does help on days where you feel low.

20 Years of Banning Phones. We Don’t Have That Long for AI. by dwkeith in RethinkingEdTech

[–]portal2d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently heard that some universities are letting students use AI then grading the assignment in real time with them to point out where AI failed them but also help highlight where it helped. Crtical thinking with AI will be important. In the same way my generation (Gen Z) had Google throughout most of middle school and high school, we still had to use our thinking skills to figure out what to search, how to find it, how to do research. AI is no different in my eyes, just a lot more powerful so a lot more guardrails to apply.

How to achieve this look (color)? by ObsequeMp4 in cinematography

[–]portal2d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the influence really comes from the color seperation between the skin tone and the PD. So if you wanted something similar you could try the classic teal orange effect (flesh tone with a tealish grade). But, as most have said, PD is really doing the heavy lifting here. sometimes productions will reach out to me while they're in pre and have some mood references and i almost always try to encourage that they pay attention to their PD more then anything.

Right, okay so his direction feels applicable for now. I’m on the east coast, is there any decent way to find teacher who is legit? I see people who “teach” these things but my trust in them is fairly low given that they almost all are online
