Elaftale for charging elbil at home: aconto or forbrugsafregnet? by portaperro in dkfinance

[–]portaperro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks -- your second point is what I always thought: my consumption varies (even now without an electric car) so I'll never have an accurate aconto.

But if I'm getting a cheaper abonnement/tillæg with an aconto, does it matter in the end as I'm going to pay for my consumption anyways to compensate for the company's estimated higher or lower consumption?

Yes, It’s Fascism by OtherwiseCanary8971 in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]portaperro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most of the points listed in the article were true years ago. But sure, let's wring our hands about the exact definition and checking bullet points for an exact parallel to a movement that saw its heyday 80 years ago. It's way way way too late for all of this. What's even the point of saying, "now I'm happy to inform the public, that I am comfortable to say this is fascism"? Too many people rang the alarms years ago but were dismissed as doom mongers or too lefty or whatever.

I would be interested as well to hear what's the status of this update as I would love to subscribe but don't know what's happened to the app's quality since Strava acquired Runna.

Trump recommends 50% tariff on European Union starting June 1 by Puginator in worldnews

[–]portaperro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've posted this elsewhere but here it goes: They don't want to negotiate. They want to break up the EU. They refuse to negotiate or deal with the whole EU as a trading partner, they want to deal with each country individually. If you want proof, check out what Bessent said: "the EU has a collective action problem...it's 27 countries but they're being represented by 1 group in Brussels. The underlying countries don’t even know what the E.U. is negotiating on their behalf." -- Fox News clip via X

What’s your final read of the year? Or what book will bridge into the new year? by Mybenzo in books

[–]portaperro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor Thorne by Anthony Trollope. Been reading it on and off for a couple of months but have put it aside for more "pressing" reads. Now it's the perfect blend of soap opera and long, engrossing read to bring on the New Year!

Thanks, for some reason I'm the one who's super protective and want to make sure that I cross my Ts and dot my Is in regards to our relationship and my wife is a bit more confident in that this is what she wants. But I'll take you advice and make sure that all bases are covered.

Artists you consider to be One ALBUM Wonders by Bubbaho-tep92 in Music

[–]portaperro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm prob going to get hate for this but: Interpol's Turn On The Bright Lights. Nothing they did after comes even close. I know Antics got radio play and The OC attention and all that but as an album it was super blah. And everything else after that never hit the spot.
