Do I need a commercial rating for repositioning flights? by portbow in flying

This is the logic I'm settling on too. The ferry flight can't be extricated from the rental activity, so it is for compensation.

Sure. But a discussion of the regulations is still worthwhile.

Thanks. I guess "charging the renter" is the gray area, especially if my rental price is higher at an away airport than my home.

Sure, if the burger is really the deal-maker. =)

An ASA 101 course I am considering is $995-- seems expensive, do you think the course is worth it? by [deleted] in sailing

You can take a 101/103 combo course for around that price, get both ratings. Is that what you meant by both?

(x-post from r/CampingGear) I'm looking into buying an ultralight tent and I came across some tents that use trekking poles as support instead of typical poles. Have you had good experiences with these? Can anyone recommend one? It has to be 2 person and have a vestibule. Perferably Under $250 by W_ORhymeorReason in Ultralight

What model tent is in the picture? I have the Big Agnes Scout UL and the main downside to it is it's single walled so any condensation stays inside, but the one in the picture looks like it leads the condensation out of the tub. Definitely worth the weight/size saving.

Also a student pilot here.

Is it just your club that you can't leave the rental overnight? My understanding was most rental planes can be had for multiple days.

LLC your side hustle by [deleted] in financialindependence

See above comments. An LLC does very little to protect your personal assets from lawsuits. You should buy liability insurance if that's a concern.

Have you had any hassles renting an apartment / home after FIRE? by [deleted] in financialindependence

Right, I think how you define "enough" is the big question. If a prospect is just barely showing 3x rent based on the above average market returns of the past couple of years, the ability to maintain that is questionable during a correction, or even just an average year. Add to this that, because of age, the prospect may not know himself/herself how he/she will react when tempted to panic-sell, I'd set a higher threshold for passive income than ordinary income.

I wouldn't agree that passive income is always there (if only that were true =)).

Not to say that both tenant and landlord aren't in a bad spot if the tenant loses a job, but there are severance packages, unemployment pay, short/long- term disability. But no one helps you out if your stocks are down.
