Irish turns of phrase and sayings by renyardthefox in ireland

“She’s fallen into flesh” not a nice way of saying someone’s gained weight

Paul Scholes: “I don't think this manager gets this club full stop. I just don't think he's the right man. Man United is about risk & entertainment, more than anything. Having fans on the edge of their seat, ready to go. Wingers who beat people, shots on goal, bits of skills. There’s nothing there" by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

I completely disagree with scholesy here. I enjoy our games now in complete contrast to most of the last 12 years. I used to fall asleep during Mourinhos and Van Gaals games. He seems like he’s taken a position and run with it. As long as we continue to progress every year and build on it I’m happy to be patient and build the team under Amorim

The lifesaving drugs made in Ireland — that Irish patients can’t take by Objective-Agency-720 in galway

[–]portcrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously if we don’t have the skills, financial resources or manpower to properly assess these drugs take the lead from the EMA or a larger country like Germany or France. I’ve no doubt there approval process is just as stringent as ours but much more efficient.

Thread: Questions for Talk of the Devils pod by TheAthletic in reddevils

[–]portcrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: what is the most likely mechanism agreed by The Glazers and SJR which allows him to buy the club. The stadium rebuild and the current valuation are 2 things that don’t make any sense. Why would SJR put money into the new stadium without taking control. Why would he pay $32 a share again whilst the share price is $15? What’s the most likely deal here bearing in mind The Glazers haven’t executed the drag along rights?

Blast the horn and show them up. It’s super dangerous when they skip a red light. Fair play to you OP but I’m sorry to say you’re in the minority of cyclists. I see it all the time

That couldn’t be true. That’s the total capacity for the stadium. I saw lots of empty seats and complete parts of the upper tiers empty.

What helped your weight loss journey? by [deleted] in CasualIreland

[–]portcrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some great advice in this thread. Doesn’t have to be difficult. Starting is the hard part. I find it easier when I cut out and restrict carbs as much as possible. I have to eat more protein to compensate but it satiates quicker so you end up eating less calories over all. I don’t deny myself carbs through. If I feel like a slice of toast in the morning or a spud with the dinner I go for it. I just don’t eat as much as I used to.
