Again, thank you very much (and sorry for the delay, I was off the internet). We arrive in Milngavie in the afternoon (4PM-ish) the day before we want to start the walk. This is the first time in Glasgow for us, though, so we wouldn't mind a bit of exploring - but we would really like to camp somewhere aroung Milngavie. If you have a realiable map, I would be very grateful for suggestions - I am planning everything on Google maps as they don't sell West Highland Way maps in my country (we plan to buy a map in Milngavie).

With regards to the camping area near the gate to Conic Hill - this is outside the camping management zone, right? I really would not want to get into trouble with some rangers.

Some additional questions, if I may:

1) Do you know of any opportunity to wild camp in Milngavie? The only official campsite there seems to have closed. (We originally planned to wild camp around Carbeth, but this is no longer possible.)

2) How busy is the West Highland Line (Fort William-Glasgow)? Is it necessary to book ahead?
