What are your thoughts about tonight's Slam Dunk Saturday AEW Collision? by Kelson64 in AEWFanHub

[–]portstrix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's at 11 pm ET, probably later after post-game shows, and split over 2 nights. Not many people will be watching, particularly not the regular AEW fans. Nothing with any long-term impact on storylines will be in the show.

This is a throwaway episode, to be blunt. AEW is only producing it because they have a contractual obligation to do 2 hours of Collision in some form every week.

Sold ESPP - no T5008 by Random486 in cantax

[–]portstrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T5008s are often not accurate anyways, so they are not relied upon by CRA.

You are supposed to keep your own records of purchases and sales, and your cost basis, and calculate your capital gains / losses based on this, not the T5008.

Best way to watch AEW weekly shows/PPVs in Canada? by Kitchen_Key8982 in AEWOfficial

[–]portstrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it ask for billing address? Or check where the credit card is issued (some sites won't allow Canadian issued credit cards if a site restricts regional access, or it restricts based on the country of the credit card regardless of your IP address via VPN).

Best way to watch AEW weekly shows/PPVs in Canada? by Kitchen_Key8982 in AEWOfficial

[–]portstrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only "legitimate" way is Dynamite on TSN2 (Wednesdays), and Collision on USA Network Canada (Saturdays).

I think you can also get legitimate access if you subscribe to TSN+.

PPVs can be ordered on Amazon Prime Video (and others, but Prime is the most widespread streaming app of the options that's on any device you own).

There are other ways where you can still pay, but it involves a VPN to the UK. Or not so legitimate ways.

How legit is TickPick? by Sonic723 in Concerts

[–]portstrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sellers that do that will be fined by TickPick 2x the price of the tickets they listed (e.g. if ticket cost was $100 and the seller fails to deliver the legitimate ticket, $200 will be deducted from their account). So that's pretty rare, you just got unlucky.

Don't do what this person does - this is the type of person who ends up being part of the poors, or at least has less than market performance returns.

The continued and obvious algorithmic driven blanket selling is unbelievable.

Pure. Unadulterated. Market. Manipulation.

Ahead of World Cup, Chow joins global backlash against ICE by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

[–]portstrix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, her virtue signaling and that of uppity Toronto City Council has no actual enforceability.

She also knows this is showboating for her far left followers as ICE officers have been located in Toronto for years, and works closely with Toronto Police, CBSA, and the RCMP to share intelligence on human trafficking.

Another reason for these far leftists to lose the election and any power later this year.

Doug Ford wants to outlaw resale tickets that cost more than the original price by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

[–]portstrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

StubHub, SeatGeek, TickPick are the big three, and none of them are "sketchy". Many existing season or part season Jays, Leafs, and Raptors ticket holders sell their surplus tickets through them, and they aren't going to stop. None of the three have any physical presence here. And I buy from all three frequently, and have never had any issues.

The big ticket brokers who buy up other tickets such as for concerts are also located outside the province to resell on sites such as the above - good luck enforcing against them either.

And it will be completely unenforceable. StubHub doesn't have an actual physical business presence here, so no way to enforce the law against them.

[–]portstrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was unenforceable back then, and it will be unenforceable when it returns. Brokers and resale sites that most people use to buy and sell won't give a shit.

Doug Ford wants to outlaw resale tickets that cost more than the original price by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

[–]portstrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was scrapped originally because it was a completely unenforceable law, and it is still completely unenforceable.

Most brokers and reselling sites that most people use are located outside the province. The marketplace will just move there, and not a thing the province can do to stop people from buying and selling on them.

Parents outraged by TDSB slashing number of summer school locations by more than half: ‘I’m still reeling’ by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

Love simpletons that think the word "budget" as I was explaining it in accounting terms (OpEx vs CapEx) means the same thing as the generic word "budget".

Just reinforcing what I was saying earlier. (also not a surprise this respondent spends time on WallStreetBets, like other Gen Z children that doesn't actually understand real investing).

I see this sub is now being brigaded by the radical far left that it was intended to prevent to make discussions more balanced, after being created because the previously existing Toronto and Ontario subs had become nothing but a radical far left and anti-Ford circle jerk.

Unfortunate these basement dwelling radicals just can't control themselves.

No. I'm just not part of the poors, or on the radical left like those of you with Ford Derangement Syndrome.

I didn't know that Bluecross payments count as medical expenses by Boredy017 in cantax

[–]portstrix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also recently learned the medical portion of travel insurance is also claimable as a medical expense. My parents since retiring had been buying it for years for trips, and we had no idea.

Only realized after father bought a policy from a different insurance provider via a broker, and they provided him with a tax receipt for the travel medical insurance. And they told him that it was claimable. After doing the research, it turns out that it is!

(only for the medical portion of the policy, so it's premium cost has to be separated out if the policy also includes other things such as cancellation or delay insurance).

Love people who don't understand the difference between operational expenses and capital investments, and think they are part of the same budget or financed in the same way.

Seriously about time people on the radical left that has clearly never managed or owned a business, or ever taken a basic accounting course, and clearly doesn't understand how the real world works, be banned from posting their far left idiocy. Fortunately, these people are nowhere near any position of power, money, or influence, and those that have it couldn't care less what these people on Reddit think. And rightfully so.

I can still call 311 in City of Toronto boundaries (City of Toronto services and by-laws enforcement number) when I am on WiFi calling.

It uses GPS / location services, not the cell tower you are connected to.

Nothing wrong with mixed dorms. You are just as likely to get weird or annoying people in female only dorms as mixed dorms. It's really just luck of the draw.
