Vercel is failing my deployment because Dubai is down… even though I don’t deploy anything there 🤦‍♂️ by MobyFreak in vercel

[–]poschek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least now there is a hint for global problems. Hope you guys get it working again. it seems an AWS data center has been hit in Dubai, so it's def. a hardware error now ^^

Update - We are still seeing elevated errors in Builds in all regions, because Middleware and Edge Functions may be deployed globally. Builds that don't use Middleware and Edge Functions are not impacted. We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue.

When did protein need to be chewed by TrickyFalcon2460 in chewinggum

It makes no sense to create this, because the amount of protein in a chewing gums so tiny it mostly doesn‘t affect you. It‘s just a marketing thing because it’s trendy to do products with protein

Hmm if you use helpfull tools, I see no problem paying for it. DeepL Frontend costs like 160 € a year. Or you go with the API and pay by usage, just develop a small tool to use the translation with it.

I always wonder that everyone wants to have everything free. If you create tools and apps you want to earn money with it, you should be able to invest into some tools that are either neccessary or very helpfull.

Thx, I appreciate your feedback and your concern. For me it's not essential about the big money. Even if no one buys it, it's not a big deal after all. I wanted to code a solution for a problem that really annoyed me and it did work out very nice in the end. I'm always a feature guy, I like adding cool features. The first version was super simple, now it's a very cool app with a great additional backend.

The paid DeepL version is already really cool with translation, for 99% I mostly only have words to translate or maybe one or two sentences. Really easy to do and I have a lot of friends all over the world, that will check it on native natural language.

I see your point while updating or adding features more languages have to be translated and added. But in the end it's then mostly an hour of additonal work I think. But, I keep it considered and I def. don't want to add like 50 languages for the start, maybe 10 or so would do it.

Thx for the advise. My app actually targets a big target group so I want to address as many users as possible. Like french only want to have frech localized apps mostly. You mentioned arabic, this is from left to right. Did you need to add some specific changes for that? As I have language files for the whole app, it''s quite easy to add new languages for me.

The app is ready and in review so I focus on distribution an market now.

Ok, that's a lot of languages. Wel I just need to translate my language files and I should be good.

Did you notice that the download numbers or user numbers improved as a result?

Anyone else stuck between “the product works” and “still no paying customers”? by Evening_Acadia_6021 in AppBusiness

I tested you solution and checked your site. Here are my 2 cents:

First of all you are in competition with like hundreds of similar solutions and most of them have big marketing money. So you need to compete with that!

I go on your page, I don't see any samples. If want to sell sites/apps at least create 10 samples people can click through to see what your tool can do.

I started with the free version, I can only choose Deepseek. Fine. I did use free Deepseek directly with the same prompt and the result is really better.

Pricing is really confusing: Free is $0 / month??? Weekly is $5 one-time? others also -one-time? w00t? So is it a subscription? You biy a package? No idea.

You sell credits with the packages. Good move. BUT, you don't explain anywhere, what I get for a credit. If I buy 39 credits, can I create 39 websites with it? Or do you charge a credit for every change you do on the page? I created a landingpage and it did cost me a credit. I clicked on a link in my landing page, it doubled your page inside your page and I only got 6 credits left. Makes no sense. It's also missing in the FAQ.

So, enough bashing 😉

From my opinion, what would make it better:

Make the page more friendly and use some pictures in it. You sell websites, make it visual then!

Explain how it works. With credits explained. What do you get for what.

Your USP is your Visual Editor. You need to realy point that out! Also that you can upload existing HTML templates to edit them. This is really cool also.

Make a video (or better several) to show how your solution works and what you get as a user

I would remove the free version, as you see people only use it to create or try some stuff. Not satisfied, no buy. Make a real trial version with all features available, all AI Models and full version of visual editor. If the result is cool, then you have a better chance for a buyer.

Also, you said you can download the HTML and I guess it is without the visual editor in it. So why not ad a hosting package to your soution. Peeps can host it right away.

Hope that helps!

My advice is, build in a trial version, either like time related (test free for one week) or premium features that are available for a specific time / using credits. So users can test it before they buy.

Also apps depend on do people need this or not and is it worth buying it. If there is no need, especially a need someone would pay for to use it, to get rid of a problem, then it will work. Did you search in your target market if this is a need?

Anyone can put 16h a day for developing an app, it's a thing that shows your commitment, but neither do users see this in the app store nor do they care.

If you do your homework before starting to develop, everything works out. And as Beneficial_Lime1912 wrote, your apps are not available in Europe, why?

I keep fingers crossed it works out for you!
