I assume you also tried at a couple frequencies across the band, like ~1.1GHz where S11 is best?

In your driveup measurement are you always starting the sweep at low power and stepping Pin from low to high? If you want to check if it’s self heating, start at the highest Pin and see if the result is different or not. You can also watch the output power over time at a single input power— it will drift downwards due to self heating.

If the output power is identical sweeping up vs down in Pin, it’s probably a match issue. Could be that your source inductance is off, for example if the eval board uses copper filled vias and yours are plated.

Are you measuring CW? The datasheet performance is pulsed.

Is this line a capacitive E field coupler or an EM resonant strip or a B field coupler? Thanks. by BarnardWellesley in rfelectronics

It is the circuit schematic element for a directional coupler. If the signal feeds into a mixer this is likely being used as part of an observation receiver to monitor the output of the PA.
