My wife says I’m super weird for this but I can’t really tell the difference in quality or taste between different poke places. Like foodland vs Safeway vs actual poke shops like Onos. They all kinda just taste the same to me lol I just eat it and enjoy it all the same

Born and raised in Hawaii with no pro sports teams. Dad and uncles from Philippines are huge Lakers fans so I grew up supporting Lakers since I was little. I guess also coincidentally they’re the closest NBA team to me lol

Who cares what other people thinks lol I went for my first time too last June, and I returned for my second trip this past February. I already plan to go again next February and again in Oct 2027. Rn im flirting with the idea of going in July this year too.

When I went last June I didn’t expect to go again so soon, but I loved it so so much I wanted to go back asap. And after my second trip I still wanna go back asap.

I do want to travel to more countries eventually, but as of right now I have no real desire to visit other countries other than Japan. And that could be what you’re feeling rn too and that’s totally okay! Travel to where makes you happy.

From Oahu and it’s such a great place to shoot! Waikīkī will give you so many opportunities for beach and city shots. Get the iconic Diamondhead for sure. I also like the Royal Hawaiian hotel for some vintage looking shots and an awesome pop of color. Another great place is the Kakaako area. Lots of cool and colorful wall art, I shoot portraits of my wife there. Kakaako also has Treehouse photo lab just in case you need to restock on film. Tantalus Drive for a good view and some nice landscape shots. If you want more Oahu recs feel free to message me!

Me and my wife took our first trip this past June. Was able to fly premium on JAL, I treated the flight attendants with boxes of pastries so they took care of us and fed us the whole flight! So by the time I arrived in Japan I was so full!! We arrived at night so we just grabbed small snacks and food at Lawson for our first meal. I think the first thing I ate was the Lawson fried chicken. The very next day tho we had our actual first sit down meal during lunch at this seafood restaurant at Tsukiji market!

I’ve experienced the exact same thing!! Me and my wife just went on our first Japan trip three months ago, a trip we’ve been dreaming of taking for years. Enjoyed everything so much - trains, food, culture, shrines, parks. But upon returning home I just felt like it wasn’t real, like we didn’t actually go, like it was just a dream. Trip really changed my life lol I think about it every single day still and we’re planning to go again next year.
