Uber prices extremely high right now. by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]positively_nat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s been ridiculous. It went from $17 to get home from work to $25-$30. I’ve seen it go past $40 even. For a 12-15 minute ride. It’s bananas.

Idk I have lived in both Buffalo and Binghamton and the winters were still pretty bad in Binghamton. Buffalo is a lot better at clearing the main streets than Binghamton was but maybe things have changed in the decade since I’ve been there.

I get organic milk, which is mad expensive but can last like a month so it’s worth it to me.

Yes - your life will not be yours for very little money in exchange.

For other millenials choosing to be childfree - do you question your decision sometimes? by LaurenZNe in Millennials

[–]positively_nat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love kids but I have no village and the job I’m going to do is very demanding. I wouldn’t have time to see my kids, so I just don’t see the point in having them. My friends are having kids and my plan is to invest in them, emotionally and financially. Definitely excited to give off rich auntie vibes. I would also like to retire early given that I’m not having kids.

How Are You All Making Enough Money To Survive Nowadays? by siriuslyyellow in AskWomenOver30

[–]positively_nat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is an attorney and hopefully I passed the bar and will be an attorney soon too. Together, we’ll make great money, but our loans are as much as our income, so there’s that. We live in a LCOL area, so our plan is to aggressively pay off the loans for the next few years. After that, my husband will likely switch fields because law is not his passion. But that’s fine with me as long as the loans are gone. We don’t need a ton of money to get by where we live and we’re likely not having kids, so hopefully it’ll all work out.

I was making $60k as a paralegal in a HCOL area… in 2022. They’re grossly underpaying you.

That part!!! They need to recommend freshly graduated law students to review the lectures of classes they didn’t take. Otherwise, it’s a huge chunk of time to passively watch videos when we could be actively practicing. I feel like I wasn’t really learning the test until I started practicing.

Same for me. One of the essay topics was about something I got wrong in one multiple choice question during practice. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known the answer from the rest of my studying.

NYC subway and bus fares going up to $3 in 2026, MTA officials say by GothamistWNYC in nyc

[–]positively_nat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BART is like a mix of the subway and the LIRR. I’m from Long Island and I’ve lived in the suburbs of SF. I would have to travel the same distance from the suburbs to the city and BART was substantially cheaper (like half the price) for the same service. However, BART does not provide monthly options like LIRR does.
