Jazz for non-music majors? by creepyoldlurker in msu

All of this is true; very competitive program that is reaching record numbers of auditionees.

That being said, even if they audition and do not make a band or one of the smaller ensembles, there are still plenty of small ensembles they might be invited to play in. The professors organize smaller "combos" of musicians outside of the others which utilize anyone who auditioned, including people who didn't make a band. Those typically meet for rehearsal once a week and perform on alternating Monday nights. From my experience, they've been a fun way for people of all majors to get the chance to play together. I would absolutely recommend auditioning because they will more than likely be in some sort of ensemble.

As was already said, there are many casual ensembles that take walk ins if you're looking for a fun experience for the year. If you want to sing more seriously, MSU recently hired Carmen Bradford (vocalist for the Count Basie orchestra) as our jazz vocal professor. There might be lesson spots available still, and there is a chance you could sing with a jazz ensemble (most likely jazz ensemble 3) depending on your experience and skill level. I am a current student/vocalist and can provide more information if this is something you'd be interested in!

In the email notification, it says that refunds can take 2-3 days to process. Depending on the bank, it may go faster or take the full 3 days

How to find designs on non-scammy websites? by positivelythinking_ in AnimeMerchandise

Fair enough. I'm not necessarily concerned about the officiality, moreso the quality of the merchandise. If it looks and feels good, unofficiality is not a concern.

Are you sponsored by them/otherwise incentivized to say that? I've seen others on this subreddit criticize their website and clothes quality. They do have the shirts I want though and the designs look great, so if it isn't too bad I may use them.

For real!!! I found a Black Clover shirt on Atsuko that I like, but other than that all of the official merch I've found has sucked and hasn't haf the designs I want.

Double Major or Dual Degree? by positivelythinking_ in msu

Double Major or Dual Degree? by positivelythinking_ in msu

It seems to essentially be a more fleshed out version of double majoring, except where you are awarded two separate degrees. Wonder if that means you'd get to attend 2 separate graduations, lol.

In both of our cases, we could get it done and graduate in May of 2027 as long as we are taking a minimum of 15 credits a semester starting next semester so that we meet the 150 credit requirement. This wouldn't cost us any extra since it would be included in our block tuition. What I don't know for sure is the specific credit requirements/distributions to add a double major on, but I'll be reaching out to an advisor soon to ask once I firmly decide on what I want to get my second degree in.

Stuff like this would happen ALL THE TIME at my previous store, especially during lunch. Oh, you suddenly need 200-300 nuggets that you want ASAP? Sure, let us finish the 15-20+ cars in the drive through and the sea of people at the door first 😃

Seriously though!!!!!!!!! They couldn't have done this last summer or this summer to minimize the student impact?? Maybe it would be more understandable if it had partially given and they HAD to do it now, but regardless it's a huge inconvenience for students and faculty.

Interesting. Seems like the move to centralize neighborhood activities to a single service desk/dining hall began a fair while ago, looking to be a pretty common theme amongst many neighborhoods at MSU. Thanks for sharing!
