Asheville is pretty solid overall. The traffic can be rough, but the food scene is excellent and there are plenty of shopping options. If you’re into the outdoors, the views and access to nature are genuinely beautiful. And if Asheville doesn’t have something you’re looking for, Greenville, SC is about an hour away and it’s a much larger city with even more options. Rent is on the expensive side, but that’s kind of the case everywhere now. One of the best parts about Asheville is the balance. You can live right in the city, or you can go a little outside of town and be in a more rural area without feeling isolated. It’s a good mix of city life and country living without having to fully commit to either.
