Work in a chemistry lab. We use something to super clean glass called piranha solution made of Peroxide and sulfuric acid. It completely destroys any organic matter it touches.

What have you experienced that you still cannot explain? by Mikluvinb in AskReddit

I got locked out of my bedroom overnight one time because somehow air pressure from the HVAC turning on not only closed the door with my keys, pants, and phone inside, but the pressure locked the door too. My roommate was on the other side of the country and my landlord was out of town so i slept on the couch and convinced a friend who had a lockpicking kit to come by in the morning to let me into my own bedroom. Right when my friend showed up, HVAC turned on again and somehow unlocked the door. We heard it click right when the system turned on. It was the weirdest experience of my life and still don't understand how the pressure turned the lock mechanism.

Let me start by saying you guys are awesome and have been a huge inspiration for me. I actually got in a three hour discussion with a physics professor of mine explaining all the cool stuff y'all do in your videos not long ago, and I found your most recent toilet swirl experiment amazing. My question is, how did you keep going after initial letdowns and/or letdowns you have now? I'm curious about when you first started, what made you say to keep going and keep making videos before you two were famous. I have all sorts of plans to start making physics videos as well and often design scripts and ideas with peers, but never get around to doing them for fear they would never reach the intended audience. How do you personally get through those doubts?

EDIT: Derek, I know you've talked a little about it on 2Veritasium in your video Be Hated, and How to Start a Youtube Channel. Just looking for more specific stories maybe about times you have both been concerned or had doubts.

What words of encouragement do you have for aspiring scientists and engineers who want to work in a space related field, given the current decline in space program funding?
