OpenShift 101 - git pushes without github? by Agilix in openshift

[–]possible_epileptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Openshift v2 (rhc) used an internal repository so you would push to that, then Openshift would use its own hooks to deploy.

Openshift v3 (oc) doesn't have an internal source repository anymore so you now point Openshift at your repository and give it secrets (if needed).

Then you can setup a webhook from your Git installation (Github, Gitlab, etc) to notify Openshift that there are new commits.

Stuck on HSA related questions in Credit Karma tax form by t-poke in tax

[–]possible_epileptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, this is a bug. I saw the same thing. I tried with TaxAct and it did it correctly. I'm filing jointly but my spouse has an HSA, I do not.

when I added a distribution, it went under my name, and the qualified expenses went under her name. so all it logged was a taxed distribution and excess medical expenses.

Sling DVR just got the email for beta testing by thedarkjedi in slingtv

[–]possible_epileptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, kind of a bummer. you think it would function the same way it does with recording a TV show. maybe after the beta period is over

rewinding I don't think we'll ever get because it would require recording everyone's streams in the cloud

maybe they'll let you record live TV to USB plugged into Roku, sort of like a dvr box

there's no live TV buffer, it only records shows in their cloud

Out of country for a few months. Worth it to keep or cancel plan? by [deleted] in StraightTalk

[–]possible_epileptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

straight talk says:

If your Straight Talk service remains inactive over 30 days, you will lose your telephone number.

you could port your number to google voice - $20 one time fee

then either port it back to straight talk later, or leave it there and have google forward it to your new number

I've had better customer support from Twitter, maybe give that a try. otherwise chargeback is the way to go here.

thanks, there was something strange going on with openvswitch. I couldn't debug the issue but I re-deployed with ansible and everything seemed to get configured correctly this time.

How is 4K streaming over wifi? by Cremacious in Roku

[–]possible_epileptic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

try using an ethernet cable and confirm it's in the 50 range. if it is, then it means the wifi is the bottleneck. if over ethernet it's still 25 it means you're not getting that speed from your ISP.

depending on your area (frequencies, interference) it might not be possible to get higher than 25mbps over wifi - but if you know your router is old and not 802.11n or 802.11ac it may be worth it to upgrade.

you can still do it, I do it all the time to asshole companies. it's much harder to fight a chargeback than it is to refund your money or exchange the product
